ලංකාවේ හැමෝටම රජයේ campus එකෙන් උපාධියක් ගන්න බැහැ නේ. එකෙනුත් STEM field එකේ 4 year degree එකක් කරන්නේ කී දෙනා ද ? ලංකාවේ රජයේ campus එකකින් උපාධියක් ගන්න එක කොතරම් අමාරු කරලා ද තියෙන්නේ. ඔයාල දන්නවා USA වල එහෙම නෙමේ. ලංකාවේ තියෙන අධ්‍යාපනය ක්‍රමය සලකන්නේ විභාග සමත් කරන්න පුළුවන් "දක්ෂ" අයට විතරයි ඉතින් USA යන්න ඇත්තටම අමාරුයි වසර 4රේ STEM උපාධියක් කරලා නැති නම්. අපේ රටේ අධ්‍යාපන ක්‍රමය කව්රුත් වෙනස් කරන්න කැමති නැහැ. මම දැකල තියෙනවා ලංකාවේ campus එකේ නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපනය රැක ගනිවු, අධ්‍යාපනය වෙළද භාණ්ඩයක් නොවේ කියපු අය USA ඇවිත් එයලා US වල settle down වෙලා එයාලගේ ළමයි USA වල state universities වලට සල්ලි ගෙවල යවනව. ලංකාවේ ඉන්න කොට කියපු දේවල් කරපු අරගල එතකොට අමතකයි. ඇත්තමට USA වල මිනිස්සුන්ට වඩා අපේ රටේ මිනිස්සු ගොඩක් වෙනස්... තව කෙනෙක් ඉදිරියට එනවට කැමති නැහැ.

Exam pass කරන්න පුළුවන් අයට campus එකෙන් scholarships දෙනවා. එහෙම කරන්නේ නැති අය ගෙවන්න ඕනි. රටේ ගොඩ දෙනෙක්ට උසස් අධ්‍යාපන අවස්ථා හිමි වෙනවා. ලංකාවේ එහෙම ද ඉතා අමාරු exam එකක ඉහලම ලකුණු ගන්න අයට නොමිලේ ප්‍රථම උපාධිය කරන්න දෙනවා. අනෙක් අය ගැන කව්රුත් හිතන්නේ නැහැ. ඒ මිනිස්සු වහල් රැකියාවලට පිටරට යනව. ලංකාවේ ඇත්තමට නිදහස් අධ්‍යපනයක් තියෙනවා ද ? USA ඉන්න ඔයලට හොදටම තේරෙන්න ඕනි USA වල අධ්‍යපන ක්‍රමයේ තියෙන නිදහස. මෙන්න මේවා social media හරහා කියන්න. ලංකාවේ අය දැනුවත් කරන්න. USA වල PhD කරන්න TA එකක් හදා ගෙන එන කෙනා ලංකාවේ special degree එකේ 3rd year ඉදල ඒ ගැන දන්නවා. GRE, TOEFL recommendation letters ඒ කාලෙම හදා ගන්නවා. ඊට පස්සේ campus එකේ demonstrator ඉන්න කොට batch එකේ අනෙක් උන්ටත් නොකිය USA ගහින්. ඉතින් ඔන්න ඔහොම කරන set හිටන් ඉන්නවා. මම කියන්නේ අපේ campus ගහින් STEM වල special degree කරන අයට උපදේස ඕනි නැහැ, උන් ඔය දේවල් දන්නව. එහෙම ඉගෙන ගන්න අවස්ථාවක් නැති අයට මේ USA වල තියෙන සමානාත්මතාවය, උසස් අධ්‍යපන නිදහස ගැන කියල ලංකාවේ මිනිස්සු දැනුවත් කරන්න ඕනි.
