UIC should be better ranked. It is a good public university(In fact, the only public university of Chicago). Also, Chicago is a good location.

But the course at UT Austin is offered by the School of Information (i-school) and is called Information Studies (IS) instead of MIS, which is the same case for UIUC i.e MS in IM. So does the offering school and a different course name matter for recruiters? Which one should I pick among the 2, UIUC or UT Austin? Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Hi mam you can try for universities in Florida like university of florida and florida state university which have nice rank and low cost. Public universities in New york like university of Buffalo and stony brook university are well affordable except for living costs. Purdue university and university of wisconsin Madison also affordable . Also universities in texas are also very affordable. There is a special scholarship program by texas state government for international and out of state students if their university gives them min 1000 dollar scholarship
