Kids need discipline and firm chastisement ,,,,look whats happened to the UK and discipline over the 25 years. Kids know their rights and do as they please and just say, I have got mental health issues. They’ve got you under their little fingers. I have only seen naughty children get rewarded. We got smacked and the rest and never did us any harm. I am sure most people get it here.

@@konyvnyelv.children are evil or become evil when not chastised and disciplined, some even get away with murder. If I will put you in room of youths from certain areas where i am from you would be terrified for your life. I agree there is a balance but also treating all with equal content in not correct. Teaching lessons the hard way or being cruel to be kind is sometimes the most effective way. Just look at the amount of stabbings by youths today. In my time discipline ruled because of the consequences

Excellent decision by the court👏🏽 and Ms.Katherine is a brave women for not submitting to the Islamists demands. I am an exMuslim and while I was studying at school I was constantly threatened, bullied and intimidated by the practising Muslims for my views and criticism towards Islam. This ideology doesn't have a place in a secular pluralistic society.

Does Michaela School have homeless people loitering, are there any local gangs feuding, is the medium household income below the poverty line, do the parents have a career and college education, are the teachers credentialed or long term substitutes, is there enough school funding, do the students go through lgbt agenda's in school? BIG DIFFERENCE HERE, DONT COMPARE APPLES WITH CHEESE

I'm thinking that it's good but maybe that it's also healthy for kids to go through a rebellious phase as they would get to test their boundaries and others. I'm not a parent or teacher though. There is a definite balance though as I went to a High School where fights and experimenting with sex was normal. That School went too far towards allowing kids to rebel I think.

Why? For making sure her school has a productive, safe environment where teachers and students respect each other and children actually learn something? Try teaching in some run down inner city school and see how bad things are.

@@religdeb You try being a therapist and talk to children traumatised by strict parents and teachers, and how they were irreparably damaged mentally and emotionally. You try reading psychological literature about the negative affects of strict parenting and teaching, and see how children can be so damaged. Stop being so selfish, you Conservatives only give a fuck about presentation and your own satisfaction above all else. Schools have had this problem for a long time, but only because of "wokeness", you care about education now. Fucking disgusting.

The soft bigotry is entirely palpable with a couple of the panelists. Who are of course, white. Katharine herself being the only person of color in the room. What pours from their mouths, like thick, oozing treacly stifling and stultifying lowest of expectations reinforces their firmly held belief that inner city kids of color (apparently wallowing in whatever assorted repressions; fatherlessness, poverty, culture, and so on) only exist for one real purpose: to further a very particular political persuasion that works fine only so long as they fail. Which would prove that a system isn't working, and a systemic oppression pervades. Should these chosen darlings actually succeed? The whole thing goes to hell in a handbasket. Katharine herself knows and understands all this implicitly. Which is why she has been fighting like hell for some 15 years now to educate the educators, parents and the general public - and prove that any child, when placed within a proper educational setting, can succeed. She cares enough about her kids to want them to make it to the finish line having preserved real dignity and self-respect, along with a deep sense of belonging in the society they grew up in. Imagine how invaluable that is. The panelists "pretend" to be concerned and all lovey dovey toward victims of what they perceive as either out and out oppression, or at best, something highly unlikely to work for perhaps the kids who need it the most. They react merely to the surface of a thing that goes infinitely deeper than they appear to be capable of imagining. Ironically, the designer of such "discipline" is the one who knows and loves and cares enough about these children to design and tweak an approach that is obviously not only getting the kind of results (that much of the current academic system fails to do) but along with those results, gives her kids a foundation in something far more valuable in life than merely academic credits. The entire rounded out package. Which is what I got with no fuss, muss, bother, debate or argument - almost 60 years ago. A time when the poorest schmuck from the wrong side of the track could be found capable of possibly out-reading me, and I was a hell of a reader.
