Why is the word racist so easy to use? Just because someone does not agree with you that does not make them racist. There are gangs trying to take over schools and keep people from getting an education. This might be one way of keeping gangs out and students like you in. Come on. You are too smart to let something like this to mess with your education. Hang in there. I agree when you are young school is tough. But the day you graduate. You will look back at this and say you got over this hump. Now you have your future in front of you. Remember. Just because someone is a different color or does not think the same as you. They are not racist. That teacher might be a little hard on you because that teacher might see something in you and wants to keep you in check so you don't get off on the wrong track. Ask that teacher if you two can talk. Just one on one and tell her how you feel. You are worth it. I hope you know I don't even know you and I think you are worth it. All children are worth it. As an adult that teacher might not know how she is coming off to strong unless you talk to her. Misunderstanding each other is a simple thing to settle with just saying to someone " You know, when you say something a certain way it makes me feel like you do not like me." Let her know how she makes you feel. I think you two just misunderstand each other. Keep it friendly. Stay calm no matter what. Show her you know how to act like an adult and she and everyone around you will treat you like an adult. I don't even know you and I do care.

How do extensions protect hair ? I did not know (our) hair was that vulnerable.
@jizzncookies3 жыл бұрын
@@warpnin3 that’s a great question! it’s actually great for protective styles 👍🏿! Our hair is super fragile and can easily break off because we dont absorb moisture like a type 1,2, or 3 hair. So because extensions are added the way it’s braided it almost seal ours hair with the extensions, our scalp is out so it’s easier to add oils which will moisturize our hair.

It may have been the rules, however the rules were clearly in the spectrum of racism and discrimination. To say that her hair (which is what she was born with) is not "acceptable" and she needs to conform her god given birth traits to seem "less then of a distraction" or even "threatening" in these educators eyes is quite absurd. Even a blind man can see that her hair posed no threat of either accusations.

@sonny59816 жыл бұрын
Clearly one with such a foul name and mouth to match would emulate that of a Neanderthal. There are a few issues that you have overlooked. One- it may have been the rule however, It was apparent in the video that the parents were NOT notified of the hair policy. It could have been a misunderstanding, however, the school was clearly out of line in sending a child who's hair posed no intimidate threat nor distraction. My question is, why was this child not allowed a fair warning? Should the school had the decency to even call the parent for such accusations, the story could have swayed in a different path. The educators (or lack there of) handled the situation poorly, and that was evident. And do trust that issues like this will only fuel the aggravation that color minorities face, and will only further divide black AMERICANS with white Americans with the apparent rise of colorism. While I do enjoy having a civil, and quite engrossing discussion with one who has a brain capacity of a baboon, I must insist that you put more.. effort, in your limited ability or shall I say, capacity to write such amusing statements.

Whoever would think that her hair is a distraction is not distracted by her hair, but by her presence alone. Besides, they're distracting that girl's learning by having her sent home instead of doing the work she's there to do. Students are there to learn, not be judged and to look "presentable". It's about education, and that's it! school is school!

I don't think the school knows how much weave costs. You have to leave that in for about 2 more weeks because you need the new hair growth and it's a waste of like 100 dollars plus paying the person who does it.

The ‘natural hair only’ rules remind me of dresscodes, specifically the ones geared towards females. It’s a sexist system that wants girls to feel bad about themselves and treats them like sexual objects. The school system needs to be changed for the better because we are *not* distractions!

@Devil's Adv0cate Yes we can pull the race card. Because the care of kinky hair is way more involved than the care of white hair. Educate yourself b4 you try to weigh in on something you obviously don't have any experience in.

I went to a school 20 yrs ago that banned anything but 'natural' hair. Their excuse was because poorer students might not be able to afford extensions or dyes & might get bullied... Still, the policy wasn't strictly enforced.

Schools should not have a say in how students wear their hair (unless they somehow manage to incorporate foul language or hate symbols into their hair style)

The only reason not to have hair a certain way is if it is danger somehow, which in a school,there shouldn’t be, or it is totally covering vision.

@@wahhh1673 that is true tho I know a lot of people of african american decent that do special stuff to their hair so it doesn't look like a puffy afro. That I would consider more of a "distraction" than her perfectly normal looking hair. I still wouldn't count it as a distraction but compared to her hair in the video is kempt and with their opinion I would feel they would send her home for her actual natural hair.

And that's why people are starting to homeschool their kids!!! A child's hair has nothing to do with how the educators in that school teach the children. And the fact that they went out of their way to embarrass her in the process was completely unnecessary.
