Black Five 45212 at Carlisle and Armathwaite 19 10 24

I must begin with an apology. I've been really unwell - a serious cold or flu followed by a soaking in a downpour in Glasgow which has brought on the old trouble - my regular viewers have seen it before - intractable hiccups/reflux - which the medical profession has failed to get to grips with for twenty years now. The camera microphone picks up every uncontrolled diaphragmatic explosion - and I can't possibly add a voice track to the video.
If any vets, witch doctors or faith healers watching this video have any suggestions, they'll be gratefully received.
45212 brings the Settle and Carlisle Steam Special from Coventry, over Shap and into Carlisle, returning by the scenic S&C route.

After a unpromising start to the day it turned out glorious and very pleased I set off, your idea of going to Armathwaite made a lovely view of the train going through at speed. Glad you felt well enough to get the editing done and I hope you fully recover soon. My 6 mile journey from town took longer than it took from Carlisle thanks to 2 of the hourly busses not turning up. it was going towards 10pm when I got home.

You do seem to be cursed with your local bus services. I don't know which is worse - having no bus services (my problem) or having bus services that just don't run. With very little left for the remainder of this year I suppose it may well be 2025 before we bump into each other again so - take care, enjoy the festive season and - here's to the next time!

@@schoolshorts It's so annoying after a long day out I could of got a taxi and been home around 7:30 but hung around the station 40 mins then a short walk to the bus stop where it was showing the time it was due. When it did not turn up I walked to the bus station to wait for the next one and got talking to a lady who had also walked there from the bus stop so the time passed OK while we waited. If we don't meet before 2025 take care till then and best wishes till the next time.

Enjoyed your video Tim, cought you filming a few times on my filming at Carlisle on this day, we did same as you but went to Appleby to film the steam at speed and then back to Carlisle foe a overnight stay at the Station Hotel for some more filming befor going home on sunday

Very busy vid. All the old favourites except Tangmere and the Royal Mail. Not sure about oats to Scotland but something brings Highland Spring Water back to England.
