Thank you, this one was done before I knew that I needed to record horizontally, I was also reading off my laptop being held in one hand and my phone in the other lol! I was thinking of maybe re recording, especially since Im getting an early horsehide Schott. I think I just might do it eventually. Glad you enjoyed!

Teach me!! lolol how would I do that on my phone? Just hold it horizontally?
@RoadToHeritage
@RoadToHeritage 11 ай бұрын
@@LeatherJacketJawn yes just flip the phone so it films horizontal especially for videos longer than a minute and a half. Vertical videos are good still for shorts and reels. Stuff that you would look at on the phone on the fly. Don’t feel bad about it though I still enjoyed it. I think most people would. I dunno how many people would notice. Also another tip, if you have a laptop you can use it to mirror the phone camera so you can have extra monitor. You ideally want to be using the back cameras to get the max resolution but that makes it so you loose your screen there for the composition.. it takes some getting practice I’m still no pro..

Hey mate, nice jackets and info. I loved your Durable videos. I'm considering buying a used Schott. I am I'd say around your size. I'm 5ft 7, maybe a bit broader than you. I was wondering if you have a size 36 one star or similar could you give me the shoulder width and armpit to armpit measurements please? I have worn other 70s jackets in both 34 and 36. Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’m 5’4” and around 135 lbs. Unless you’re around my weight, I’d say you probably need a size 38. My size 36 618 from the 70’s measures 17” in the shoulders and 20” across the chest. But if you’re skinny then maybe a 36 in the 70’s perfecto would work for you. My size 38 also fits me pretty well

@@LeatherJacketJawn thanks for your reply. The current jackets I wear which are from both the 70s and 80s are around 17/18 inches from armpit to armpit. I have a little wider back from working out but I'm pretty slim. I mostly wear s or xs sizes. I don't like them baggy.

Yes, 618 with stars became 613 in the early 90s in production. Most people wrongly believe that 613 is a predecessor of 618. The numbering is misleading, too. You are very correct, thank you. By the way, the author's first name is Rin, not Ren.

Very nice video. But none of your jacket was the Brando jacket. You now, original Brando's were publish before and there plenty of images on the net. I had an original but French buddy of mine was in love with it and I let him have it. No regrets I will get one on my new size one day. I reach to a very knowledge person friend of mine who has a size 40 that has damage but the panels can be reproduce and used as template for repro. There are some companies and makers who will do it for an excellent price. The challenge are those original 40's hardware. You have a great collection!

I always dreamed of owning a Perfecto, but the prices were prohibitive. I finally bought one, a vintage from the 90's. I was apalled at the quality of it. Some of the weakest and worst stitching I have ever seen in a leather jacket. Seams were coming apart, loose threads here and there, etc...The leather was much thinner than I ever expected...paper thin. No it wasn't a knockoff. Genuine Schott NYC. I promptly sold it on for close to what I paid for it and bought a Vanson. The difference in quality is night and day. Vanson use a far superior heavy leather and the workmanship is flawless. Will never consider a Schott jacket again.

@@chris101gray3 that’s a shame. You got a dud. They’re usually very high quality. I own a ton of Schotts and Vansons and I can tell you they are more or less equal in terms of quality.
