Best mini skid steer operator on the planet. Great work John!

I have used John (and son's) services twice and highly recommend him. My projects were probably small in comparison to his overall scope of work; however, he remedied a years-long-overdue garage cleanout that was hindering some much-needed space. John is a complete joy to work with. Happy New Year Schott Services! The Tool-Challenged Townhouse Owner~~🌿

The initial trench that was filled with filter fabric and stone appeared to be closed on both ends with no drainage. Was that meant to trap runoff from the shoulder that you created with the intent that it percolates into the ground? I couldn't see how it got out of the trench.

That trench was a slightly an after thought over the main idea of just building up the driveway/surrounding ground and sloping the water in the opposite direction. Yes, technically, there should be a pipe running through there that daylights to a lower point away from the soggy area. When discussing this new trench idea with the customer, I told them that ideally it needs a pipe in there to drain the water. And there was actually a much larger drainage ditch in the woods to the right of where I pulled back the leaves. I explained to the customer the additional cost to trench all the way to this lower point and adding the pipe. And, since the driveway was built up, it shouldn't need much or any drainage. But that it wouldn't hurt adding some river rock below grade to help dissipate the water faster if it ever migrated to that area again. Ultimately, the build-up and re-sloping of the driveway fixed the problem. The trench was just a little extra added drainage. And since it was being built up anyhow that extra dirt would help! The customer decided to forgo the additional cost of adding any extra pipng/trenching. This was a long-standing problem for the customer, and it was an odd section of the yard with many different grades/water flow in the area that would have been difficult to explain in the video. I know this is a long explanation! Now you see why I didn't put that in the video! Good eye, though! I'll add to the description. Thank you for asking!

What gravel calculator do you use for estimating tonnage needed for jobs? I’ve found that each one I have tried gives me a different amount. Interested in learning which one you are using. Thanks!
@SchottServices2 күн бұрын
I don't typically use one. I have tried using the online calculators before but never really sure how accurate they are. After many years of laying stone, I have just come up with a length and width of how long a triaxle goes and measure that way. It's not very scientific. I can typically look at a driveway and know pretty close of how much stone I need. That's not being boastful at all, just that I never tried to calculate off square footage. Again, my way of measuring is not very scientific but fairly accurate!!!

The one I use in my videos is made by Blue Diamond. Loflin Fabricators makes the attachment. You may get able to find it cheaper thru their site at cleveland-equipment.com/ Or Express Steel sells them as well expresssteelinc.com/snow-pushers/?***01-+Snow+pusher+keywords&hsa_acc=5799014583&hsa_cam=372884244&hsa_grp=26083409004&hsa_ad=524572954288&hsa_src=g&hsa_tgt=kwd-311487947646&hsa_kw=express%20steel&hsa_mt=b&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAg8S7BhATEiwAO2-R6mIJ-hJSdT0wv6sBYYLkurtnrbvXfjAzaNYxDZw_VegUn_UrCfiyjhoC_pMQAvD_BwE
