It is good to see more small fixed blades on the market. I like folders for everyday use, but when camping/hiking, having both your large and small blades fixed make one less failure/wear point.

I have noticed that MTech seems to make a lot of Schrade inspired knives and they have their own copy, version or knock off of the SCHF5n

This knife is growing on me. The more I think about it the more uses I can think of that a larger knife would be cumbersome. This knife fills a niche that that would complement your standard larger camping,hunting knife. Two are better than one.

I think the Gerber big rock is a good competitor for this knife. The Schrade has a great sheath for the price. $30 for a full tang fixed blade with a kydex sheath what's not to like.

I ordered one of these about 6 months ago. It arrived with a chunk of the blade broken off in the middle. It was about a half inch deep and an inch across. Never bothered to pick up another. I thought mayve I had a lemon at first, but after doing some research, it seems this is a common issue.

I use this knife everyday An its great for the money I love it. It takes a razor edge an last a while. I have put this knife threw it an it not even scratched or chipped.

I have one of these. I just can't trust it because I have read a lot of posts where it breaks easily. One fellow had it in his backpack and when he tossed the backpack down, it broke in half (no real effort). For fiddling around it looks neat and is inexpensive, so it's a good knife in non-serious situations. I wouldn't take it when I go hiking in the mountains of Oregon though. I need a knife I trust and this one worries me too much.

The nice thing I find about Schrade is unlike other companies they put and equal good product together good knife good sheath a lot of other businesses give you a good knife and a crapy sheath not Schrade that s why I vote Schrade knives above everyone else they know how to get it done right

I have the whole series of these models. I love the knives, but must respectfully disagree with you on the sheath. The sheath on all these models suck big time. The sheaths are cheaply made and could be better. All my sheaths, I had to reheat so they could mold to the knife and one of them cracked. I think Schrade had a winner on these knives but they sure blew it with the bad sheath.
