Excellent review. I would love to hear your views on fit/comfort and operation, and I would be particularly interested in the same for the respective intercom units (i.e. SC1A; and SC2). I have now purchased both the C4 Pro (Carbon), and C5 along with their respective communicators from Champion. I was really excited to receive (and swap my less than 1 year old C4 Pro for) the C5, albeit more for the com's update than any other helmet features. For me, I have to say I'm really disappointed in the C5 for a number of reasons, including fit/comfort, design and communicator. Specifically, I find the new pillock a pain to keep un-fogged and the new lower nose piece actually allows more sun to shine in when riding with the sun low in front of you. Admittedly I also have a blacked-out visor on the C4 Pro, which I prefer to the drop-down, and will add the the C5 once available. Obviously this is me personal opinion, but for the money I'd be buying the C4 Pro over the C5. I would really like to hear what others have experienced, as my reasons for upgrading (as mentioned) were the communicator, which is frustrating as hell to use (due to the controller/remote and communicator unit being separate devices, and the now boom mic always being in the way when closing), however the button are far easier to find and use while riding and with gloves on. I'm now considering adding the Sena 50R to my C4 Pro as an alternative audio setup.

Tried both of these top of the line helmets, it comes down to which helmet fits your head shape better. Both are great.

I have the C4. It's not a great fitting helmet, especially around the jaw area. I'm surprised by the ventilation findings here because mine constantly fogs, the vents are virtually useless. I ride with the visor partially open unless at highway speeds. It's a solid helmet, doesn't leak, and it is quieter than my other helmets. I have had problems with strap anchors breaking and the SC1 Advanced Communications system stopped working after not much use. I'm not sure if that was a problem with the helmet or the SC1 itself, and I'm not willing to sink more money into this helmet to find out. I'm going back to Shoei for my next modular. Overall I'm not impressed with the quality or design of the Schuberth.

The C5 has an integrated Pinlock screen so normally it cannot fog

I have the schuberth C3 Pro and it doesn't fog. I even ride in heavy rain. I ride every day regardless of what the weather looks like.

I have got a C4 Pro and I am very disappointed about the ventilation of it. In the summer, it is very hot inside the helmet, in the winter, the visor mists up even with the pinlock system, so I have to keep the visor open a little. This affects the noise in the helmet. When I previously owned a Shoei Neotec, it was well ventilated and you should feel cool air around your head in the summer and the visor did not mist up in the winter. I do not think having the same temperature as outside is a positive to be honest.

Interesting, i only tuned into this video to see if there was an audio improvement over C4 pro which i have, you somehow avoided covering this topic oddly, as i am happy with my C4 pro though audio can always be bettered. Unless i missed it in video then apologies.

Great video. I´ve got a C4 pro with the SC1 instaled. Is it possible to change the speakers for better ones? I use a Sena S20 Sistem in another helmet of mine(C3) and the sound is way better.

Reasonable review. Could be improved by slowing the speech down a little Have the helmets the other way round to match the gestures you naturally make as several times you said c4pro when you indicated c5 with body language. Reading of an auto cue or similar does not make the sentences flow well.

I know that the C4 Pro was optimized for even sports bikes. I ride an adventure bike and the helmet seems perfect for that, it should work for a naked bike too.

PJ certification won't magically protect your chin and face when the helmet is open. So what is the value of PJ certification?

It will be interesting to try the C5 on for fit. The C3 was too round for my head and the C4/C4 pro were better, but still too round for my head. The extra pads that adjust the shape may make it better in my case or they may not. The extra pads cost extra, correct?

yes you can, the manual indicates a way to remove the sun visor. And you should be able to find a replacement online.
