I just watched these guys with their bad take on Ronaldo vs Beyonce. If you are in the US, yes you would root for Beyonce. Outside North America, it's Ronaldo. Young kids literally practiced to play like him. From dribbles to free kicks to running, it was Ronaldo. Even Shakira, Beyonce's friend knows about this, just ask her. It's so funny because even young Brazilian children adore Ronaldo and Messi, ask Rodrygo and Vini Jnr. Ronaldo shifting a Coca-cola bottle during an interview cost Coca-Cola to lose $4BN in the stock market. Even after this generation,people will watch old clips of Ronaldo and Messi and still idolize them. Ronaldo is way more influential than Beyonce. If either he or Messi visit a 3rd world nation, everyone will show up at the airport to welcome them.

Ronaldo is definitely bigger across the world. It's hard to quantify a football players impact on the game, especially as an outfield player, because football is such a team oriented sport that has evolved to the point where transformative players like Pele, Maradona, and young Messi are extremely rare to see these days. However Ronaldo's die-hard attitude and diet planning was definitely somewhat revolutionary in football. Listen to his old teammates when he first joined United and you'll see how his teammates saw him as a different kind of animal because of his ethic to becoming greater.
@Josh-ql3be Жыл бұрын
Ronaldo has upped the bar in terms of professionalism, but he has also shown that with hard work, you can match the most talented player ever, toe to toe. Kids today know that to really make it in football you can't have 1 pint or smoke 1 fag. And his style has definitely influenced generations of kids to be more flamboyant, but he didn't influence Neymar. Neymar comes from a 70 year lineage of Brazilian showmanship. Ronaldo was very influential. In fact when he came to Man Utd not only did he annoy the opposition with the way he played but even his own teammates would fuck him up in practise and tell him to stop dribbling so much and being a diva and stuff. Didn't matter though he just did his thing. Also Ronaldo made pulling your socks above the knees popular. I remember in 2003-2007 everyone wanted to look like him on the field. Also his freekick goals are some of the most unique you will ever see. Also and this is a big also. Winger Ronaldo and striker Ronaldo are practically two completely different players. If you watch Ronaldo today you don't get the full story, not even close. He used to break ankles in his 20s.

If you live in the US, Beyonce. Once you step out, you will get the answer. Like many have commented about how him replacing the coke bottle caused them to lose 4 billion in the stock market. His fitness regime and professionalism. These are the qualities people forget. The off the pitch qualities- the mental aspect. Being celebrity in US gives you a bigger platform to reach out to globe compared to other countries, let's not forget that. And Messi is better player than Ronaldo for many of the fans, but no one would say Messi is more influential. It's not just what he did on the pitch.

Like every GUY and Girl everywhere knows about him everywhere. In any country. Beyonce peaked. My gen/your gen know her. Like think of Mike Tyson fame.

@NerdcraftRealm2 жыл бұрын
Cristiano (there's only one Ronaldo in football) changed the way football players and fans see/experience the sport now, influencing the way they prepare themselves physically, mentally, in/out of the pitch, he brought the sport to a new whole level specially because he wasn't as gifted as his opponents (Messi in particular), we wasn't a golden boy when he grew up but he became a Ballon d'or himself (x5) by excelling on everything else he was capable of (training more, first in/last out, special diets, next level body treatments to recup), this made a huge change for everybody in the football community because you no longer have to be a super star that was born with incredible skills that nobody else had but gave the mentality to all the kids and football professionals in the world that if you work hard, focus on your craft, work on yourself and give you 110% every single time, you might just get it. And to me that's more influential than talking about a pop start who's a bit chunky in the lower trunk and who might've set some beauty standard (this is not revolutionary, it has been a fashion trend before) for certain people.
