@@Dronax it’s both, there is demonstrable evidence of there being a racial bias in the justice system. Not in every single case obviously, but it’s still a factor.
@KennyBucketz3 жыл бұрын
@@Dronax no, the black white thing is real too. There are biases in the justice system hence why when all other factors are accounted for, black people are still more likely to face harsher penalties and are much more likely to face police brutality when there’s a run-in with police. If you don’t believe in biases in the justice system aside from money, how do you explain the sentencing gap between men and women? When crime, criminal history and other factors are accounted for, men receive 63% longer sentences than women are are twice as likely to be incarcerated if convicted. If there’s a sex bias, why are you so sure there’s no racial bias? Look what this country was built on and just stop. This is why that white woman, Any Cooper, walking her dog called the police and lied and said “there’s a man, African American, he’s recording me and threatening me and my dog.” She weaponized the police because she KNOWS that her as a whiten woman can get the black man harmed or killed by police. She knows about the racial bias, so she (and many other Karen’s) use it to her advantage to try to keep their white supremacy over black people. She figured the police would take her lies seriously because the accused is a black man. Had he not been recording, it could’ve ended badly for him. It’s already dangerous when a woman lies on a man, but when he’s black, the consequences are more grave and the woman is more likely to be taken seriously and believed.

Let's get the facts straight cuz yall weren't telling it right. Constand alleged that Cosby drugged and raped her Feb 2004. She did not report this to police nor did she go to the hospital. She continued a sexual relationship with Cosby for the next few month before being cut off. In feb 2005 she tries to file a civil suit alleging the incident from the previous year. They would not hear the case without charges being filed, which she did. But because there was no evidence it led to them agreeing to not pursue charges in exchange for Cosby to do the deposition, which was supposed to be kept sealed. Fast forward to the 2015 trial. The prosecution pushed for them to be able to have the:deposition sealed but also blocked the defense from using the same deposition to defend himself They chose select excerpts to try to paint narrative to influence a guilty verdict, while depriving Cosby of right to access same document to highlight contradictory statements from Constand and other things in their tha could've benefited his defense.

I have no idea whether Cosby was guilty of what he was accused of, but I do k ow that freeing him was a just outcome. And he should sue the crap out of them. In other words don't entrap anyone. Criminal case is taken by the state, civil is taken by the victim. Civil is for damages caused to victim, criminal is the state prosecuting a wrong doer
@pkz4203 жыл бұрын
That's how it is in many nations. In Canada you can not sue for a criminal case, for exact the reasons you outline. It encourages corruption, and it also encourages actual victims to not place criminal charges, because a civil suit is more lucrative, and a jailed defendant often can't pay as much. Victims of crime are able to claim compensation, but it is paid out by the government, upon a criminal conviction. That way all motives are for justice, not personal gain or fraud.
@rustknuckleirongut81073 жыл бұрын
Or rather you should have to be convicted in a criminal case before a civil case can be brought. A criminal case should determine guilt and a civil case should decide if you need to make financial restitution on top of the penalties the criminal case gave you. Being able to have person be both innocent criminally and guilty civilly of the same crime is insane. Either you did it or you did not do it, not this "We found you innocent in a court of law, but you are going to need to pay some money for doing the thing the other trial said you did not do".
@pkz4203 жыл бұрын
@@rustknuckleirongut8107 That could still incentivize false claims. It just raises the bar for evidence. Again, Canada handles it by including restitution in the criminal sentencing. If they are convicted of a crime, then no civil suit is required, because restitution will be paid out by the government (so the victim is guaranteed to get paid even when the criminal is broke), and then the government attempts to collect the restitution from the criminal. Automatically upon sentencing by the criminal court. Civil suits do not deal with criminal acts, only civil ones.

Andrew saying "convicted in civil court" helps remind me not to take anything comedians say serious. These guys have a very loose understanding of what happened but they are funny as fuck.

Prosecutors blew the roofie off this case.🤦🏻♂️

Here’s what really happened. The prosecutor said the allegations had no supporting evidence so he would not prosecute Cosby. He then said that so the lady could get some kind of retribution for her claims he would never prosecute Cosby. He did that so Cosby would not claim the 5th amendment in the civil trial. If there’s no possibility of criminal prosecution you can’t claim the 5th and this is why he did the depositions. Afterwards a new prosecutor filed charges but Cosby was already forced to give testimony against himself in the civil trial. Dirty pool!

People use to pop those like candy back in the day, if you stayed awake for 10-15 minutes after it kicked in you would get high of it. These women just had buyers remorse and found an opportunity to play victims.
@maraw86583 жыл бұрын
Just a few points 1. It’s not called a conviction in a civil case, it’s called being found liable 2. You can take a plea deal using what is called the “Alford plea” where you are maintaining your innocence but accepting the deal for lesser time/crime.

Cosby is now a "free man" and a judge won't end Britney's conservatorship. _dafuq is wrong with the system??_
@SoupSandwich1163 жыл бұрын
Cosby had quality legal advise that got him a deal that would protect him in the future. Poor Britney was put into a conservatorship without a clear way out. The civil court is all about making deals and negotiating terms ( both her conservatorship and his first trial was in civil court ) in addition to that the burden of proof in civil court isn't beyond a reasonable doubt, it's just preponderance of evidence which is relatively low in comparison to beyond a reasonable doubt.

How bout you live your actual life and not worry so much about celebrities. Bill Cosby ain't drug and rape you and you don't know Britney spears. We don't have any information on what's really going on in both, just what's being told to us. So take what these people say with a grain of salt
