Fantastic! There's really a lot of color in this. It's like a very subtle riot of color. Nice warm and cool tones. Really a beautiful little painting.

I love watching your inspirational videos from start to finish Roos. I really am so very pleased whenever I find a new posting from you. I am in awe of the way you are able to create a painting with such depth of tone and colour from a scene that others would possibly not even consider trying to paint because it looks so boring. I hope one day you may travel to the UK to paint and perhaps give a demonstration! it would be great. Please keep on painting and posting. Regards and many thanks...

Absolutely one of my favorite paintings of yours Roos! Extremely valuable vlog and KZbin! Listening to you think out loud is a very valuable experience. Listening to you solve your problems and make decisions is like living vicariously through you! You are letting us inside the mind of a master. You are able to take a scene that would look boring to most people and create a masterful work. You give the gift of inspiring our hearts to go out and just start. This painting turned out absolutely right! Your honesty is a blessing , It is very encouraging to hear that even someone who has mastered outdoor painting as you have can say that you’re not sure how good or how well received the painting will be teaching us not to care or judge too early just put it behind and be thinking about the next painting. Your candor lets us see that even someone as experienced as you goes through doubt and admits that you were afraid and what to learn from our fear about being more courageous. When we see and hear a master say that they are not sure if it is good enough makes us feel that we are not alone in our similar thoughts as amateurs. It gives us confidence to hear that a master is unsure it is good enough. We never think we are good enough as Artist and that thought can interrupt and get in the way of us starting and finishing up painting as you know. It takes strength to share our doubts and you give us confidence when you share the strength it takes to be honest with ourselves. You give us courage to realize it’s OK to doubt ourselves and that is part of the process. Almost every painting I’ve ever made I did not know it was good at the time it was created. It took walking away from it and coming back to it to realize what The painting needs or does not need. Thank you for teaching us to focus on the next. Thank you for teaching us to let go of wanting to know if it is good or not. I absolutely love this piece and the pallet you used is absolute Eye candy. This painting has lots of room to breathe it’s spacious magnificence is to meet perfect! Your edges your shapes your sense of color and your touch is a powerful influence. I always have that problem....which view to paint. FOMO they call it. We are in dreary weather now and sometimes I forget about mixing dark clouds in browns instead of having the whole cloud in shades of blue or purples. Thank you Roos...you have helped me so much. I am the only person here in Indiana (that I have seen) that uses a small mirror when I plein air paint...and I run the local circuit, so I see a lot of different plein air painters. So glad you are putting these videos out.

Thanks David! I am relocating and redesigning my online gallery for paintings. I will make sure it's done well before Christmas, beginning of Dec. I hope you are fine. I just found James True on YT, and it's hopeful how many smart people know why not to get into fights🌈🌈

@@PaintingVideos I am well! The Truth wins in the end. I am starting to paint again after a hiatus that lasted too long. Being an author has taken up a lot of time, as has moving and filming videos. Not painting is no good, though. We moved to a beautiful part of Alabama and I'm going to head outdoors again with my easel. Wish I could have attended one of your demonstrations before the lockdown took over the world. Maybe I should interview you for my channel instead. Your work and life are both very inspiring. Very glad to know your site is going back online.

Groeten Gerda
@PaintingVideos4 жыл бұрын
Geen medium Gerda, starting a painting one does not need any medium: could make the fitst layer slippery, which prevents thick paint apply. I only use terpentine or white spirit (same) to clean the brushes these days. Xx
