Swapped out my GP5000 TL for these new Tle PRO One and like them better. A lot smoother, supple, noticeably lighter and feel just as fast because they spin up faster. My crit bike I just installed SWorks Rapid Air but have not had a chance to test yet.
@toekicker015 жыл бұрын
Have used Pro ones for about 3 years and switched to the corsa speed 2. The corsa May be fast, but went through 4 tires in one month and one of them the day before Challenge Prague. A local bike shop hade pro ones and did a quick change back to pro ones. The moment the new TLE’s were available, I purchase and road the for Ironman Louisville. My opinion is the new TLE is more comfortable and the puncture protection is very good. The corsa would not seal, even called the company to ask if I was doing something wrong with the sealant. They just recommended more sealant. I am sold that pro ones may be the best overall tubeless tire. But more importantly I have the confidence to take a turn and know that it grips and has the puncture protection needed on race day.

Good point. This is what I have noticed also on previous versions of the GP (4000). The first 100km it rolls very well and you can throw them in corners like hell. But after that the rolling resistance seems to increase quite quickly
@ronykuba5 жыл бұрын
The increase is not so dramatic, but still, it makes me wonder if there's a difference at all after around 1000km between the GP5000 and the Pro one

As an added point to the wear of the Conti GP500: from my experience it generates flat spots quite fast from what you might expect on such a 'resistant' tyre.

I've gone through a set of the new 2020 Pro Ones in no time because just weeks after installing them I ran over something on the road that felt like a pothole but caused a bump feeling through the bars and immediately front and rear tires went flat. It was a snake bite on both tires. These tires I think do flat easy. I complained to Schwalbe support and they sent me two more tires free of charge. I have those mounted and have only used them for a few weeks and not able to log a lot of miles because weather is bad now. I had the older Pro Ones before installing the 2020 TLE's and I noticed the size difference also. I got good use out of the old Pro One's but that could have been down to the tires having more volume and yes they were slower and heavier tires. The ride feel of the new 2020 version is not so good in my opinion. There is rumble on smooth new tarmac. I felt this with all four tire so far. Ride yours and let us know if you have a similar experience with the feel.
@ronykuba5 жыл бұрын
Your tire pressure is probably incorrect if this happened
@wasupwitdat1mofiki945 жыл бұрын
@@ronykuba Yeah, you are probably right. 85 lbs in the rear and 80 in the front just probably wasn't right for these tires. The Pro Ones I replaced I ran at 70 to 75 psi in the rear and about 60 to 65 psi in the front. These tires were a bit more narrow than the older 25C tires by a couple of mil which is why I pumped them up higher. It's been my experience with tubeless over the years the higher the pressure the easier they puncture and they won't seal.
@yannickokpara48614 жыл бұрын
@Ronald Kuba when are you making a review? I would really like to know how they compare to GP5000, because on the GP5000 while it has insane rolling resistance, I have no grip if I go within the recommended 80-109psi(rear wheel slides in corners)
@jonathanzappala5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't make assumptions on the pro one having a lower Crr after wearing in, that would have to be proven. I love the conti's, but I have a previous gen pro one on a front wheel and it still looks new after 800 miles, so it seems to definitely be a longer lasting tire than the gp 4000 was.

Hi Ron, Why no mention of Hutchison 11storm TLR? They're been producing some excellent tyres recently. For training & winter riding, I've been using them on my Token hookless wide wheelset. With these, 28 & 30s are true to size, easy to install (with floor pump), safe, comfy and v.good value. Check them out if you can. Good review by the way and nice point about hookless rims👍

JibbaJabber I’ve been using these in a 25 and they’ve been far better than the old Pro One’s I was using. Very grippy, especially in the wet, and very resilient. Not at the top of the list when it comes to fast tires though. That would be my guess as to why Rony hasn’t really tried them.

Have you got a followup review on these tyres Ronald? How have they compared to the gp5000?
@JW-wn9mj5 жыл бұрын
How much air pressure can you expect to lose each day? I installed the same TLE tires (28s ) on my Enve SES 5.6 wheel set and lose 5-10 psi overnight. My LBS used ENVE valves, rim tape with Stans sealant for set up. Tire pressure is usually set to 75 psi before every ride. Should I expect this much psi loss each day ?
@onemetre5 жыл бұрын
Schwalbe preferred Orange Seal when I spoke to them a few years ago. I don't have that much pressure loss using Orange Seal.
@EditioCastigata5 жыл бұрын
Loss is not linear. On a new tyre and tape you'll lose more in the first weeks, and decreasingly so at lower pressures (like, 10psi first day, 7 the next, 5, 4, …). If you cleaned a carbon rim with the wrong alcohol you might've contributed to the tape not adhering correctly (due to lose carbon), which will result in creeping pressure loss for weeks.

You're comparing the data for a used Conti 5000 TL with a new Schwalbe, which is invalid. You'd need the data for both used instead of speculating. Further, bicyclerollingresistance's methodology is questionable, with motorizing the drum instead of using the spinning wheel to revolve the high inertia thingy; the deformations will be different.
@ronykuba5 жыл бұрын
Since there's no such data, I have no other option do I? As for a motorized wheel, it's exactly the same as a rear wheel on the bike. If the testing would be flawed, it probably wouldn't align with data from other sources.
@EditioCastigata5 жыл бұрын
@@ronykuba Absence of other options doesn't justify use of invalid comparisons. It's a classical fallacy. And BRR's data doesn't align with all other sources. And no, not exactly the same: Pushing a box with a car is not the same as pushing a car with a box. Just reminding you to not give into parroting or cargo cult. But if you like the new tyre more than the old, that's a valid experience. No need for studies or facts to support that.
