Please keep in mind that this particular brand did not last. It faded. However, you may want that if you're just experimenting with color.

very true. it only colored my previously dyed hair and only tinted my roots too. within a few washes my virgin hair was still there. most definitely semi-permanent

Revlon Colorsilk is a great permanent box hair color that’s gentle and doesn’t contain ammonia. I’ve used the Ultra Blondes many times and never had an issue. They have a lot of color choices as well. Just wanted to put that out there 🙂

I've tried this several times and while I love it, the color usually fades on me in like 7 days. That's the price we pay when we want to go healthy, the results don't last. You kind of need the ammonia and all that other stuff to make the color stick.

I agree. However I've been using ammonia free Garnier Olia for years now and it really works. Doesn't fade. I actually made a video about it. 😃

Hi thanks for the video. I have 3 questions. 1. How long the colour stayed for on your grey roots? 2. Some say permanent colour is bad for you. Whats your thoughts on that. 3. Is it normal to lose hair with any sort of a dye?? Thanks.

Unfortunately the color faded in about 4 weeks. As far as permanent color goes, it's best to try to use a milder permanent color that is less harsh on the hair. The lighter the dye color the more damaging it is. I'm currently using Garnier Olia Brilliant Color Permanent Hair Color and love it! I get very little loss of hair and the conditioner it brings is very nice. I actually have a video review on that particular brand if you want to check it out. Also, to answer your third question, yes it is normal to lose hair with any sort of hair dye. Hope this helps. 😉

Since I used almond brown, probably not much of a result on dark brown hair. It might lift your hair color to a lighter brown but not much. However, if you’re trying to lighten it with a lighter hair dye you’ll most likely end up with something lighter but probably very brassy (reddish). Hope this helps.

Thank you. I like the idea of the color fading bc then I can grow out my natural gray without needing to see it grow out and just coloring with this product and let it wash out until my natrual gray grows out...hope that made sense :)

I hope you see this comment since this video was a year ago. Would you say this color lifts natural brown hair at all? I’m looking for something to slightly darken my blonde highlights but not lighten my natural dark brown hair at all

I was a cosmetologist years ago. If you use a lighter hair dye than your natural hair color it’s going to lift. However, if your natural color is too dark it will probably turn red or take on a red undertone. This is complicated because if you are just trying to darken highlights it would be impossible to just color the highlighted strands without getting the color on the natural hair. This color brand did in fact fade on my hair. However, I can’t say it would do the same for someone else. I personally think you would end up with red undertones. I hope this helps.

I have the almond brown. Do you think I could paint on the color bc I want low lites underneath my hair and under my bangs bc the rest is blonde? Thank you. 💕Kim

Yes, I think you can paint it on. Just be sure to use foils to separate the hair so you have good definition and it doesn't blend all over. And pin up the blonde parts so they dont get any of the color. Also keep in mind this product is kind of watery so just be careful with it. I hope this makes sense. 😊

It didn't even work for me. It lifted my dark color and recovered my hair back to dark with a golden under tone! Never using this product again. It's awful.
