Thanks dude. That concept of drying before correcting is solid in my case. My wife's hair is blond; when it's wet i get anxious to 'correct'.. i think i recall that it turns out much better when i dont correct in the same day. I guess i've been misinterpreting bundles of hair as dark hair. I appreciate it 🍻

If you ever have to say to yourself ‘trust the process’, maybe you shouldn’t trust your knowledge of hair colour science. Blondme Ice appears pink when first mixed, not only because it is a lighter shade of red contributing to the violet, but also because there aren’t enough blue pigments to make the red pigments look more violet. This is not the same as the explanation from 9:51 to 10:45. A colourist who understands pigment ratios (and not just going by the manufacturer’s designations of red, gold, beige, neutral, violet, ash, etc.) would immediately recognise that the pink in Blondme Ice is indicating an iridescent base of more red than blue pigments (though less iridescent than Ice-Irisé). At 23:42, when Ice is compared to Igora Royal 9.5-1, you should be able to see that Ice has a pearlier result. Both are technically violet toners because they cancel out yellow pigments from level 8 up, and they appear violet when fully oxidised, but Igora Royal 9.5-1 is a cendré (ash) base. The Schwarzkopf -1 ash series is blue-violet. -2 ash plus is blue. -3 ash plus is blue-green. You’d never know from Blondme’s colour swatches what the pigment ratios are in the toners. The best way is to mix the toner and see how the colour oxidises, as long as you have sufficient knowledge of pigment ratios. Colours are always by the eye. They do not do funny things when you are not looking, so instead of telling yourself ‘trust the process’, educate the eye. No, Ice will not turn the hair into Strawberry, but you should also know that the pink isn’t a lie. The blonde shade is more shimmery iridescent than cool icy. Redken EQ Violet Ice, for example, has more equal parts red and blue pigments for that icy blonde. If your client is not interested in iridescent, do not use Ice as is for the sake of cancelling out yellow. You have other options in Blondme, especially when you mix the shades in different ratios.

I need the amount of toner for length of hair too. Used one box of Ice toner 60ml last week on my long hair and somehow my hair turned out purple blue on the L10 strands and the rest that was L8-9 stayed yellow. I think I either used a weak developer (7%), the wrong tone, not enough product or all of those 😅

Hello there thank you for the question, With the BLONDME Ice Pastel Toner it contains a Cendre (Blue/Violet) Tone Direction. If the hair has any porosity issues it can really grab onto the hair. We would recommend using the BLONDME Clear Toner with the Ice to help dilute the pigments. Also do note that if the hair isn't lifted to a level 9 the hair may need something to help pretone before the toner. Example like using the BLONDME Cool Blondes Neutralizing Shampoo to help cancel out that brass before the toner goes on. Hope that this helps ✨
