I would love to own one of those! I would be riding it all the time!

What a gorgeous collection! Like them all but my favorite is the 'Blueberry Krate' just because I'm partial to blue..especially Schwinn's rendition of it they always had nice paint on the Sting Rays. The Krates and Fastback versions are the ultimate expressions of the Sting Rays.

I had the Apple Krate in 1970, never heard of the blueberry Krate before, that would've been a popular color in the early 70's

Yes you are rite. Blueberry-Coal Krate bikes were supposedly proto type bikes Schwinn was planning to produce. a lot of collectors like me wanted one so I built it. I have asked around to even other collectors to show me a factory built Coal or Blueberry till this day no one has sent a photo. Even though they swear there in a museum somewhere. Get yourself another Apple Krate enjoy it they are so popular even now. Thanks Rick

I wonder why collectors remove the pedals when showing their bikes!?!?.. maybe so they can store and haul them to shows without damaging the bikes!?!?.. that's why I think...

That's a beautiful collection. I do have a question though---how did you get a rear caliper brake on the Coal Krate? I have one of the new repros, and there is no mounting hole for one

Review & understand vintage and repop rust. These are vintage Krate frames yours is a coaster there is no comparison of quality etc.

@@ReddingCT70 I know the difference, but I wasn't willing to pay $2,000 + for a nice vintage Krate. Mine no longer has the coaster brake, converted it to 6 speed

Why no pedals?
@ReddingCT703 жыл бұрын
Look at the seats, most are attached with wire ties , pedals add to much when storage

@@ReddingCT70 Thank you sir. Not sure how I missed that. I live in Canada and back in the 60's early 70's A real hot bike was introduced. They were lime green and were called Mustangs? Have you heard of these?
