They paid him in a lump sum, for (iirc) the 3 phase electric motor. The bank, Westinghouse's bank, insisted on this. Would have been nice if Tesla was a bit more astute, monetarily. He was a freak'n genius! The "modern" electric motor, from over 100 years ago. Transmission of electric power (over wires) and the battles with Edison's DC current. Radio // Radar - the Great Radio Controversy vs Marconi and many other things.

I haven't been on Dust for a good few months but please let me clarify. Not because I got fed up with this very professional channel or it's superb content, but because I had so many things to do, stuff I wanted to research, several books that I had not gotten round to reading yet but wanted too. A handful of household upkeep chores, some decorating and what have you, so I am very much looking forward to a few good binge watches to catch up with some old favourite characters and of course some great new ones too. Keep up the great work you guys. To me this is not just entertainment but concepts that makes you think as well.👍👏👊

Alternating current, AC when plotted on a oscilloscope, what you see are repeating alpha waves, peaks and valleys. Between Edison's DC, direct current and Tesla's AC, AC won out as the most efficient way to transmit electrical energy long distances. DC is still in use for some applications such as solar panels.
