That was amazing! The ending, to me, seems to show that.... ** WARNING SPOILERS BELOW!!!! ** .....everyone was actually a "jelly". They were hiding it, they were hiding their humanity (which ironically was displayed as being monsters), their kindness, and whoever showed it was deemed "weak". I really wish this one had a happy ending, but at least the pigeon survived....

The road legal one is the EGO, and it's a few pounds heavier since it has lights and stuff on it to make it street legal. Then again if you opt with the lesser shock system that might shave those lbs back off too. the road one is capped at 150 mph / 199 kph too, while this one is supposedly wide open. topping mid to upper 160's i hear.

That's not necessarily true. I have the Ribelle, which is the same thing, only neutered slightly on the top end and a more upright sitting position. Their power distribution scheme is pretty good and you really don't see much of a drop off, at least I don't. Ive ran the thing in the low 30's to upper 20's battery range and it still takes off like a scalded cat and hits 120 mph very fast and sustains it. At 20 percent it starts curtailing your power to conserve the battery.

Was I watching the Spanish inquisition, Nazi Germany or Cambodia? I once saved a pigeon by taping its broken wing. I didn't put it in a box. It lived in the courtyard outside. It ate a lot dry cat food that was put out by multiple for the stray cat that also lived in the courtyard.

Excellent short animation, especially the motif of discrimination + paranoia, and its relationship with the Judenjagd (the hunt for Jews) during WWII. Though, the ending made it less about Jews hunting Jews, and more about McCarthyism - Americans hunting American communist spies throughout the U.S., using their Karen abilities to get people fired from their jobs or imprisoning them for being too "socialistic." So, I guess this film starts as a monster movie that turns into Judenjagd and eventually reveals itself to be McCarthyism.

The greatest evil perpetrated is the evil committed by nobodies, that is, human beings who refuse to be persons. ???? This statement is a value judgement. If I accept the basic definition that a nobody is someone of no consequence or having no status we then need to define status and consequence. This is also open to interpretation based on an individual or group perspective ie the head of a family or major organization; both have consequence and status within their own sphere and anyone outside of that sphere could choose to perceive the other as without value and therefore as being a nobody. The basic definition of 'person' refers to the artificial entity or corporation. Person is a designation forced on all homo sapiens/human beings via the certificate of birth and we do not get the option to refuse. So what is it you are trying to really say? If you choose to see someone who does NOT impose their will upon others as being the perpetrators of evil, I guess we are in opposition. It is claimed that Einstein said, "The greatest evil is not committed by those doing evil, but by those who do nothing" which is similar to your opening statement. But, I'd like to ask why so much effort went into building up the illusion of something good only to later allow the evil hiding within ooze out and contaminate everything? Was it just because you could? Out of boredom? Or most likely because of a hatred of the human race. This seems ironic considering humans are the sum result of the meddling which has been done to them and not what they should be or would have been if the law of non-interference had been adhered to. Still, it is worth pointing out that all who perceive themselves as somebody would not be without homo sapiens to give validation. Will that validation still have merit when it has become a mandatory or programmed response? At the risk of being redundant I shall end this with a value statement of my own...The greatest evil perpetrated is the evil committed by nobodies who think they are somebodies, that is, persons who refuse to be human beings.
@moovesmooves7202 Жыл бұрын
Hi just1certifiable, thanks for your train of thoughts. The quote is from Hannah Arendt. Her idea of being a "nobody" has less to do with one's consequence or status than with what she regards as the main problem of modern society: our refusal to be fully human. According to her, this refusal to engage, this inclination to reduce ourselves to insignificant cogs in the machine, paves the way towards evil. She coined a term for that: the "banality of evil". For Arendt, being a person means to engage, to get involved and, in that way, to be accountable.
@DrachenGothik666 Жыл бұрын
The quote is from Hannah Arendt, who wrote a number of seminal works on totalitarianism and fascism in society, and she's talking about making oneself a servant of the dictatorship authority without questioning it. Think of the people who were "only following orders" in Nazi Germany and didn't believe they did anything wrong because of it and were surprised they were actually being charged with a crime.
@just1certifiable Жыл бұрын
@@DrachenGothik666 Thank you for the source of the quote and sharing the perspective of it. It is amazing to think of thousands of people marching to their deaths because a few in uniforms told them to do it. It seems many are destined to repeat. The inability of so many to question anyone that looks like they are in authority is unfortunate, but proven again by the Milgram experiment. By the way, my favorite part of the film was the saving of the pigeon.
