The thing is. He couldn't have fixed it. Because like his brother said you have been here before. He was already in the loop he didn't put himself back in it. He can't. It's just going to continue exactly like this. I mean. They could write in alternate time lines that split off if some form of third party time riding alien happens to catch him at that time and space and change his mind on riding into a black hole lol. Still interesting food for thought tho

Side note: Having over twenty years as an A plus certified computer repair technician and working my way up to an MCSE systems administrator I can say for sure that excluding hardware faults, poorly written apps and websites and corrupted software the issue is ALWAYS the human sitting at the keyboard. The acronym GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) is SO true. When humans finally solve true AI (artificial intelligence) the issue will still be whoever is sitting at the keyboard.

If he has 36 minutes to grab his brother before reaching the point of no return, wouldn't it be a two-way deal, that is, unless his brother was experiencing engine malfunctions that would prohibit him from using his own "36 minutes" to escape the gravitational pull. In other words, the "36 minutes" should apply to both vessels since they are in the same space.

I just have a recommendation (being a KZbin video watcher); It's better to make audio louder rather than quieter. I have this turned up all the way and I can barely understand what the guy is saying. Then when the ads come on they are FULL BLAST LOUD and it's REALLY annoying. I've noticed a lot of these DUST shorts have very quiet audio. Just wanted to let someone know! I'm really enjoying these DUST Sci-Fi shorts! Man they are cool! (Now I''m at the end of the video and the audio is better! I guess it was just the beginning scene.

I remember this one. It's an oldie.. Great story .. see what the end is like for yourself. I love luv Love the Ai and the ship.. I love the Directing and this type of actor in the situation (challenges presented to him). The editing and the final production, everything. Wait, I’m confused. So was it really his brother Alec that saved HIM, by punching him out of the time loop? Except this time Alec might be dead and/or be unable to send out a distress call, thereby giving the brother no cause for going near the black hole? If I’m even close to being close, might that mean we’ll never know exactly what happens to Alec? For example, could Alec ever be stuck in a loop? And how in the world did Alec know what coordinates to give his brother?? Would Alec have used the same coordinates but was unable to, perhaps because his ship ran out of gas?? I hope I’m not coming off as nitpicking on esoteric details, but time paradoxes, loops, etc, are HARD for me sometimes…most of the time. Plus, I figure some of the goals of any story is to engage our imagination and stimulate conversation, so I’m engaged and stimulated. :)

It won’t happen except only in our imagination. Going from horses to rockets doesn’t mean our technology will magically make wishful thinking a reality - and there is absolutely NOTHING analogous between horses-to-rockets and rockets-to-jumping with respect to technological advancement. Even the transition and evolution of the simplest atoms of hydrogen and helium into humanity fails to be a suitable analogy. Because life from non-life is obviously possible, whereas jumping is not. Never.
