This was certainly a sad and painful movie short but a touching and moving one as well. The acting was excellent and I was hoping that she would be allowed to continue aboard the transport because someone found a solution to the fuel problem. I usually enjoy these Dust movies, however this one was so sad and made me feel so bad for that little girl that it almost made me not want to watch Dust anymore. If I would had known something about this episode before hand I wouldn't have watched it. But I guess you'll run into these kind every once in a while. I wish it would have ended better for her.

@@butchs.4239 Well, as l was watching it, l was hoping that the pilot would have at least been able to find a habitable planet out of all the ones that he was passing to drop her off on so someone could come by and pick her up later. I remember seeing an older version of The Cold Equation of which this is an adaption. There was a 1984 movie of that name and another Twilight Zone from 1986. These all follow the basic story from the early 1950's with the weight problem being the issue. The version I remember had the young woman being the girlfriend of the pilot which made the choices much more personal and the main issue was the craft only had enough oxygen for one person plus a small surplus of 25 or 30%. not near enough for two people. This made the scenario much more believable. The vaccine was meant for a colony planet with millions of doomed people who would die without it. I haven't been able to find that version but I'm glad Dust has brought around another excellent version.

There have been many adaptations from a recent CBC radio play to Ray Bradburry Theatre 36+ years back all the way to X Minus One in 1954 on NBC radio. Please do not claim this is your work.
