I don't know which gives me more of a headache, the original Planet of the Apes timeline or the Terminator timeline.

Well the original time line was confusing then they rebooted it in the early 2000s with Mark but that was bad so then they rebooted it again in 2011 the grate trilogy

The terminator timeline is clear... use your brain... Terminator is a paradox , because actions from the future also affect the past (kyle reese has to go back for john connor to exist) then What If after T3 , skynet send another « arnie » to kill john connor on the beach (terminator dark fate) ?.. See , we can speculate all we want , but terminator was doomed at the beginning, since it started as a paradox , SAME THING WITH THE FLASH 🙂

I loved the new War for the Planet of the Apes. I think it may have disappointed some people because it just wasn't FUN enough. But it was a great, serious scifi. I hope they do another one, maybe jumping ahead in time to the Icarus' crash landing!

I did overall like it. My only problem was that once the apes got trapped in the colonels base, it really started to drag. And going into the movie I didn't think that it woulf primarily take place in one location instead of several

The correct timeline of the current films is that Rise starts off in the year 2008, then jumps 3 years later when Caesar is a kid ape in 2011, then jumps 5 years later to Caesar as an adult in 2016. The second film, Dawn, takes place 10 years later in the year of 2026. The newest film War, takes place 2 years after Dawn in the year 2028.

Great video! Here are three suggestions for your consideration and I hope you get around in doing them because I really do enjoy watching your videos. 1. Anaconda (film series) 2. The Howling (franchise) *My favorite* 3. --Psycho (franchise)-- Predator (Franchise) EDIT: Cancel on Psycho busy binging on your videos I came across it.

All of them have held up quite well over time, even THAT one. It's surprising, because it's not really a film series I was excited to see when I was younger, but I have fond memories of the original film series from my teens and I still watch the films from time to time. I can't think of any film series that has held up as well as the Apes series has, both in the classical and the remakes... both of them.

ahhh i wasn't even expecting this! another great video 👍🏼 way back AMC played the entire series and i became a huge fan. but even as a kid i knew the Tim Burton one (which i unfortunately saw opening weekend) was dumb. it's great that the new series is not only popular but incredibly well done. kinda crazy that a series about talking apes has come so far, let alone that the SECOND reboot is a critical darling/blockbuster. if only they could all be that good

It's amazing that a cheesy scifi franchise from the 60s/70s has spawned the amazing films of the last few years. It just goes to show premise + execution = success
@movietimelines
@movietimelines 7 жыл бұрын
they really are a great example of remakes not being a bad thing. interestingly enough, the cheese factor of the originals is mainly a detail of time. when they came out, they were considered to be big budget affairs, and were seen at the same level that we look at the modern series.

Samuel Moon The new films may have the technological advantage but in terms of being mind-blowingly ahead of its time and exploring deeper concepts and ideas the original 1968 film is a masterpiece of cinema and is acknowledged as such within the film community.

yeah, it's a catch 22 for me. as far as viewership, the best time to release a video is before a new entry is release, as that is the time that people are seeking out content about that franchise, so i tend to make the video before the release but that means that i miss out on including the newest one. also, when a new entry is out, there is no way for me to access the footage for inclusion until after it's released on dvd or digital.

Have you not seen Battle, the events of that movie take place 12 years after Conquest? It’s clearly stated several times through dialogue that it’s been 12 years since the events of Conquest, so Battle takes place in the year of 2003.
@movietimelines
@movietimelines 6 жыл бұрын
i did. there's conflicting dialogue. they state at one point that there's been 12 years of peace, which seems to imply that it's been 12 years since the takeover, but mandemus states that he's been living in the ape armory for 27 years, which suggests a later date. i went with this later date, since i could justify that the 12 years comment meant that the apes and man have been attempting to live in harmony for 12 years, and i couldn't justify the 27 years comment in the other case.
@PokeScott101
@PokeScott101 6 жыл бұрын
Movie Timelines oh, yeah I almost forgot about that scene. Gosh, that is confusing. Well, if this theory I’m thinking of makes sense to you let me know, but maybe Mandemus has always lived in that home even before Caesar’s uprising in Conquest when Mandemus was still just a regular orangutan. That’s a possibility, there was a 20 year gap between Escape and Conquest, so maybe as a regular orangutan he’s been in that home since that 20 year gap. It’s a possibility that there were other apes living in that area before Caesar’s tribe from the city in Conquest moved there.

Great Video! But I think in remake right after markey-mark crashes it quickly shows his ships date reader as saying 3002.
@movietimelines
@movietimelines 7 жыл бұрын
i kept coming across the 3002 date in wikis and such, but there's nothing in the actual film that states this, so i'm not sure where the date came from. his reader shows a date when he goes through the portal, but it's still counting upwards and the last date we see is in the 2400's.

I love the original 5 movies and even quite enjoyed the Tim Burton version, but haven't really gotten into the new ones. I saw the first one and was disappointed, then I saw the second one on a plane and slept through about half of it. For me, they seem to lack the fun aspect of the originals or the Burton version. Rise suffers from not really having any likable characters other than maybe Caesar.

I'm here because in 1 and the cartoon show they arrive in the 3970s-80s I think and in the second one 3955 is the year earth explodes and three confirms. It the characters in the live action show arrive in the 3000s not the 3900s and now I'm starting the cartoon show and I a baffled Because idk what's canon there's another Orko but it's 900 years later and now speech is coming up in humans in this show I think so I hate that. I'm the live action show they had 900, years to devolve so the talking wasn't a problem but then the cartoon starts and had the Apes discussing if humans can talk too close to the original where they wouldn't dare believe it.

Jinxxed0 as much as the nerd in me wants them to, the Heston POTA is untouchable. i just can't see it being done better (unless they give the apes the futuristic stuff like was in the novel) "Beneath..." is a huge mess but it has some interesting ideas that could be revisited
@movietimelines
@movietimelines 7 жыл бұрын
you know, when i rewatched Rise, and they referenced the Icarus being lost in space, i thought it would be a great way to incorporate that storyline if they would have that ship somehow make its way back to earth, only to discover that the virus wiped out the humans, and apes were now kinda running things in the new series. i figured it would be a good way to include that storyline, without involving time travel, and keep it more grounded, like the new series has been. but then i realized that the ship would have to have been in space for over 10 years, so i'm not sure how that would've worked out with oxygen supplies and food and such.
