There aren't too many people or too little money, there are very few people hoarding all of the money and doing all of the destruction.

well yeah, when 3 americans own as much wealth as the bottom 50%, or 8 billionaires own 50% of the world's wealth. or that 90% of the stock market is owned by the top 10% in income, or that 51% of congress are millionaires or better and it's only 5% in the american public... who do you think they represent? the 5% of millionaires or better, or the rest of us? it's the apathetic populous that's the problem, the mass of people kept in the dark by billionaire right wing/libertarian corporate media. most people who watch the shit they're being fed, thinks they're watching real news.

Really good discussion. That part at 31:00 where the neighborhood goes as a group with their guns to evict the homeless, it makes perfect sense to me. Homo sapiens evolved in small groups and that's what we return to when problems, inherent to the large group, manifest. It's not even the large group that matters here...it's the way the neighborhood is structured along with the right to ownership belief. Enter SCI- Arc and other intelligent designers to fix the structure; I guess the implementation of a gift economy will fall to others like you and me.

Why would start with punk in the UK? Even the UK guys would say they heard the Ramones first.

Agreed. There is a great "Directed by" feature covering Spheeris' work on The Criterion Channel right now but sadly the collection is a bit thin on 'extras', 'behind the scenes' and 'interviews' material which the people at Criterion are usually so damn good at providing. Nevertheless it is a nice collection and worth a look if you are a PS fan.

damn, i was 4 minutes in before i noticed michael's shadow wasn't someone sitting between them with their back to the audience. i like the way penelope phrases why you shouldn't care what people think about you, "because it doesn't have anything to do with you." *homelessness* - socialist kshama sawant got a bill passed by the seattle city council, to raise 300 million to house 500 homeless people. it slightly raised taxes on 500 of the wealthiest businesses in seattle. it passed 6-1. after it passed, big corporations like amazon, starbucks, boeing, etc. etc. spewed nonsense around the clock that 7000 jobs would be lost, and vowed to spend millions to get all 6 council men/women (who voted yes) voted out of office... the council members balked, they backed down and nixed their "passed" amendment...

There’s a reason that homelessness hasn’t been “solved” on any level. If people are in a state of acceptance of their position like being homeless then there’s no drive to change their position. There’s people that have tried to just that and fail, and maybe stop wasting their time trying at a thing they know will fail. Mental illness is another contributor. Mental illness will never be fixed.

God what a frustrating interview. She doesn’t answer any of the questions hardly but instead goes off on these random unfocused tangents and keeps jumping all over all over the place to areas that no one asked about and it leaves the listener totally unsatisfied and lost.

Part 3 was REALLY disappointing, especially compared to the first. As a fellow lover of HC punk who played in a few bands I was really unimpressed. LA actually had wayyyy better bands that couldve been featered. Also she only shows gitter punks. In LA it's wayyyy more diverse than that. You would think all LA punks are drunk, high, and homeless.
