​@@stanfordschroder1980 breeding two donkeys/horses right now has quite low chances to get offspring with better stats than their parents, this took a lot of effort to get superb stats donkeys/horses and was a way to differentiate between players that were willing to put several hours into this vs players who couldn't be bothered someone made bug report about this and mojang decided to make off springs have better stats in future updates, thus cutting grind down Ilmango in his previous snapshot video jokingly said he should make bug report about getting netherite is too hard xD

funny thing about the naming of the farm is that mega for metric prefix is 10^6 while nano is 10^-9, so it'd be 10^-3. So, it's effectively a mili farm.

I would recommend Sound Muffler Mod for Fabric, if you aren't already using it. It can muffle specific game sounds in general, or create areas where they don't play. It would help with dropper/dispenser and door/trapdoor sounds.

I was thinking of an automatic system that measures and stores a score for each donkey and whenever one breaks a previous score it replaces it as a parent. You can use comparators and shulkers to save the current score, break the shulker and place another when a better one comes. You can use mine carts to move the old and new parent. And then you don't have to manually check each donkey and manually change the cutoff.

Regarding the bone meal water loop, when the farm is running the bone meal loops, when turned off a hopper in the loop is unlocked to pull the bone meal out of the loop and store it in a shulker(s)

I suppose it would have been too easy to just make the farm slower, so that it could be supplied by a moss based farm. Then one would neither have to transport bonemeal, nor deal with the distribution. I still need a wheat farm myself, so I guess that's what I'll do. Did he say that the requires 200k bonemeal/h? Since I am playing with the autocrafting table, I could actually comfortably supply this farm with my wither skeleton farm. We really need autocrafting, at least basic stuff, in vanilla

Of course it's practical. Sure, the farm is way faster than the bonemeal supplier. But that just means that you have to run the farm for a shorter amount of time, as the bonemeal efficiency is unchanged to a normal nano-farm that might match the bonemeal farm

Bonemeal-powered crop farms are a sort of a necessity for getting target blocks. The problem is just that Mango's moss farm is dated. There's been a revolution and a half in moss farm design since. Current designs have settled on a spiral funnel to minimize moving blocks. There was recently a lively bit of competition between Glotz, Emilia, and Hexatron (Chromoss) to build a better moss farm. There has been some disagreement over which is the most lag-efficient, but Chromoss is the most practical to scale up. It's still laggy compared to a good skeleton farm, but they could get the moss generator and crop farm in under 20 mspt on their hardware.

His tree farms and blast chamber are outdated for quite some time too and years prior he would have updated them or designed new stuff. Nowadays it's just not worth his effort. Those are 2x speed loaders, hence the two hoppers pointing into one dropper that puts items into a shulker box. 6x loaders would probably be optimal for this farm, but as ilmango said, he just went with something quick and simple for the storage.

Could he have used hopper minecarts inside of the observer blocks half way on top of 2 dispensers then had each of the minecarts be filled by 2 double chests and the chest filled by 2 hoppers each, and had the bottom row filled by the same method but just on top of the rails instead? As the minecarts would not have been affected by the redstone signal from either the rails or the observers, or would the minecart hoppers not been fast enough to fill the dispensers?

Minecart hoppers cannot fill ANY container. They need to be emptied by other hopper minecarts, normal hoppers, or by breaking them

To avoid wasting bonemeal after turning off the system, you can use a timer which supplies bonemeal at the perfect rate that it’s consumed and the off switch pauses the timer. You’d just have to pre-fill once
