Hey mango, synchronizing 2 block streams can be done quite easily. If you run a clock that 0 ticks a normal piston every 8 ticks, you can 0 tick push a block in front of that piston using a sticky piston during any of those 8 ticks in the cycle. If you have 2 of these setups running on the same clock your block streams will be synced to the clock. You can then merge the two streams. I used this to split two 4-tick blockstreams into 4 synced 8-tick block streams.

I love clay farms. The drying racks are really aesthetically pleasing. It sucks that mojang can’t be bothered to add cool features most of the time even ones that would cost zero effort. But when they do add a fun mechanic to the game i really appreciate it.
@dan.horrigan2 жыл бұрын
TL;DR; There is no such thing as zero-cost feature. Software development, contrary to what most think, is more than just slapping a few lines of code together and calling it good. Professional Software Developer here: There is no such thing in software development that "cost[s] zero effort." Sure, it may only take 5-10 minutes to get it working...but then you need to add automated tests, add it to your QA plan, add documentation (hopefully), and have other developers review your work. So, your 5-10 minute addition ends up being days of work, before it ever even gets merged. Then you're into the support/maintenance life cycle. Unless you planned for every edge case (which is nearly impossible), it's going to break something (probably right after the original author leaves the company😂). So, some dev is tasked with debugging, writing regression tests, and fixing the problem.

@@dan.horrigan removing ghost blocks is a good example of what you’re talking about and you’re totally right. A sci craft member told a mojang dev how to fix ghost blocks and it was a very simple fix. No downsides to removing ghost blocks but it took them a few years to actually do it. Somehow useless features get tons of development time but important qol changes just “don’t fit in their patch cycle” obviously i have different priorities than mojang. 😓 What i mean by zero cost changes is stuff u could change with a datapack like crafting recipes. It’s been over a decade and we have no renewable sand?? Just let us burn coral in a furnace at least. That is 100% zero effort. Most of the Mojang devs come from mod making. They don’t play survival so they really don’t care. That’s the impression i have at least i can’t claim to know what all of them think

You can connect up the storage area of the mud complex with the blockstream-switches and chunkloader to automatically redirect blockstreams in case one block you can get out of this complex fills up its storage. Automatically shutdown the farm and unload the area when the complete storage is filled up to free up server ressources. Additionally you could add 2no2names lag detector to automatically shutdown the farm in case the serverlag is taking overhand and free up ressources that way as well.

You should have a glitch guarantee. Like, if you lose all your stuff because of the internet cutting out or because of unpreventable lag (game freeze for a few seconds or server lag spike) then you should get your stuff back. If you activate a machine which makes your game lag and then you die, then that's on you. If you afk and you die, then that's on you. If you don't pay attention and jump in lava or in the void and you die, the that's on you. If you forget you took off your elytra and died, then that's on you. Even just dealing with the lost time of dying, getting your stuff back by "cheating" it in (or using a datapack or mod/plugin) and getting back to where you were is enough of a hindrance already. Getting a new set of gear ready and getting all the items you had in your inventory is just a pain and wasted time...
