Hi Pastor Wilson. I'll confess that I'm an "atheist" (though not a naturalist) as of this moment, but I want to thank you for exhibiting the virtue of being a reasonable and thoughtful person. You have a cool, logical style that's quite formidable. We disagree about much, but I suspect that I'd enjoy speaking with you far more than I would enjoy speaking to someone like Dawkins.

How do you both feel about Jordan Peterson and the recent videos of him crying at the thought if Christ being true and God
@monew632

@@jgvtc559 I have been praying for Dr. Peterson to come to Christ for years. I believe he belongs to God and God is keeping Dr. Peterson where He needs him right now. Dr. Peterson has helped many people turn their lives around and many have even turned to Christ because of his lectures and interviews. Did you ever listen to any of the IDW debates/tour or his biblical lectures? The man is brilliant. Btw, now I’m praying for Peyton Evans too. 😉💕

@@jgvtc559 It shows that Jordan absolutely understands the gravity of the Christian story. I suspect that the level of emotion that he showed during that video is partly due to his recovering health. Jordan mentioned that he currently seemed to have very little emotional resilience, which I feel is totally understandable given the suffering that he's dealt with recently. Still, I found his sincerity and vulnerability to be really touching. If you haven't already, I'd also recommend watching his discussion with Bishop Robert Barron. Jordan is a bit more composed and generally plays the skeptic during that conversation, but it was a great talk. On the one hand, Jordan Peterson isn't technically a Christian and I doubt that he'll ever fully claim to be one. On the other hand, his allegiance to Christianity is clear. He describes the figure and ideal of Christ as the perfect person in a beautifully compelling way. I'm not sure what to make of it, but I suspect that Jordan would agree with me when I say that Christianity is the only serious contender to atheism - or perhaps some vague form of deism.

Before Jesus saved me and guided me to Truth, I scored highest on science in the ACT, probably because I followed "consensus science" with little questioning or rebellion like I had for every other topic as a misguided and rebellious lost teenager, who God had thinking deeply long before I came to believe Him or believe in Him.

What do they call Doug's style of ramblings(for lack of a better word)? I'm sure it ties to some classical education style in the 1800s almost somewhere between a poem and a speech? Has a canter to it, has very specific Christian and other terms, but it's directly addressing the question it's not some vain rambling of someone at a University trying to sound smart or be so vague that it could mean a 1000 things.

Regularity is assumed not design. Dawkins is a biologist not a scientist outside of that domain and as such his talk on evolution is not generalizable to all of science, and why exactly is Dawkins the authority on secularism as if he was worshipped the way Jesus is....

Theonomy provides the freedom to worship the one and true God, which is true religious liberty.

Youre quite right in this sense: Theonomy only works (ironically) when embraced & practiced by a regenerate Believer in the context of the Self & Family Sphere. But not when imposed by an Ecclesiocracy / Elder Board who are usurping the more Primary Spheres. In that case it IS destructive of essential Liberty. One might say "its how Cults form". Does that jibe with your point ?
@nomoslogos

You completely missed (or ignored) the point: we are ruled by theocrats NOW, their god is man, and they have destroyed the Religious Liberty created by the Christian Foundations of Western Civilization. So which theocratic society do you prefer.

To define things Theonomy - God and His Son Jesus Christ as our Ruler but skip the Sessions and Elders that dream they're sitting in Jesus lap & Moses seat. That ALWAYS ends up Cult Like & abuses the Faithful. All it is is Protestants somehow creating little infallible groups that dole out abuse as well as any Catholic hierarchy....
