Just go and read your dharmic ved and granth you will get ans. ....and why is need of scientific paper in everything..chhath pooja is our pride, our devotion,love towards god...and we don't need any scientific papers for it !! Our culture is the one who has made maharishi kannad,varahimihira,shusruta,naga arujuna,aryabhatta like scientist(who were called rishi munis in the past)...and S.ramanujan( a great mathematician and god believer)
