I don't find "space" or "time" or an XYZ coordinate system to be sufficient to explain reality anymore. But I like the rest of this quote. We can imagine "timeless" and "spaceless" objects, for example "a red cube" that is not in any space or time context, it's just that red cube in your mind. Or you could imagine abstract objects like "the smell of coffee". The only constraint it seems, with perception or thoughts is that they are necessarily object-oriented. Any attempt to cognize a mere feature of an object casts it as a new object. That's why we find smaller and smaller particles, we can't see it any other way.

@SIMPLY HUMAN ur trapped in language. I’ve been following Rupert for years. His teachings are vendanta. Non duality. It’s not absurd. I know people who had an awakening from his teachings. Stop being so critical and mental. If it doesn’t sit well with u then move on. U don’t need to call what they say absurd. Rupert is pointing to the non dual state which is “consciousness” but that’s just a word. The essence of reality is beyond words. Consciousness does not arise out of matter. Matter arises out of consciousness. And matter itself isn’t really matter. Matter is made of consciousness. The building blocks of matter is non material. I dislike when people knock on people when these people are trying to speak about the unspeakable and the unknowable. Meaning the unknowable can’t be known with the mind. One must move past mind to get a glimpse of what they are pointing to

@SIMPLY HUMAN I've been listening to the likes of Rupert Sheldrake, Chalmers and follow panpsychism and find them incredibly interesting. @SIMPLY HUMAN why do you separate 'Understanding' and knowing your true nature. They are the same thing!
@is-ness2 жыл бұрын
Experientially they are not if understanding you mean someone has described the taste of sugar but you have not tasted it. This means one can distort that over time in communicating that to others and inflate a spiritual ego. Eg Deepak etc etc etc etc etc etc Knowing is EXTREMELY rare and The understanders get trapped….deeply usually at mental understanding and why Ramana said it was for the end of the path. Few get the sacrifice and healing within that needs to occur to hold knowing ongoing. Hence Raman’s words his teaching followers have forgotten either by accident or design. Teaching the end to ignorance that’s too deep traps the node of consciousness or human being longer. If we now reply with the is no person and it’s not your radiant experience ongoing than my point is proven. Rupert does not mention the light experienced by that and “others” enough imo that allows large followings but is a trap for most as the claim WAY to early and that mitigate it to an imagined knowing.

It is simple and no big-deal on the one hand, but it is Huge and momentous on the other, affecting everything in our lives and -albeit in a subtle way perhaps, ever being we may encounter! Re Mr. Chopra, I might be wrong, which is partly why I make comments elsewhere, but I believe you misunderstand what Deepak is doing. Recently he has had his own 'dark night of the soul' and I think he gets it more than just in his mind! Here, (this is where I might be wrong?) to me he is playing the role of the 'ignorant' seeker, for the sake of Rupert elucidation misunderstand But what he says is perfectly fine, from 99.9% of people in the world - to which the incredibly condescending and worse audience laugh at! How they must look down on the average person in life! Gurdjieff called them 'tramps'! Mr Spira kind of utilises it, he seems to slightly play the role of the serious one who agrees with their humour but is 'above' it. Here's one that will throw you for a loop: "The physical world is in reality nothing more than inert matter. The inherent life and animation in all forms, from atoms to man, come from the subtle forces of the astral world. These, in turn, have evolved from the still finer forces of the causal or ideational creation, the creative vibratory thoughts emanating from the consciousness of God or Infinite Consciousness. Man, the microcosm, is in all respects, an epitome of the macrocosm. His physical body is gross matter. His life and his ability to perceive through the senses and cognize through the consciousness are dependent on the subtle powers and forces of his astral and causal bodies, all instruments of the indwelling soul or individualized consciousness of God." - Paramahansa Yogananda (God Talks with Arjuna, Vol. 1, p.59)

Yes Rupert consciousness doesn't go through the three states. Consciousness is static. It is its static nature that allows the detection of those three states that intrinsically contain change. If consciousness wasn't static, how could change be detected? There would be no "platform" that would allow detection. The inversion where consciousness loses itself in experience is rectified when consciousness knows this: without that which experiences, no experience exists.

Deepak is the classic repeater of others knowledge while never admitting he hasn’t awakened. It’s quite tricky. Pick who you listen to very carefully as it’s very nuanced.

That's simply not true. Chopra has never claimed that he is enlightened. On the contrary he has made it clear he is not an awakened being.

There is no illusory separate self unless consciousness initiates the illusion. Chopra is right. Consciousness veils itself. It's consciousness' doing to itself. And it takes consciousness since it is all there is. Other than consciousness' worldbeing itself there is no world.Consciousness happening within itself as whatever. Living a mind wake . Consciousness differbeing itself as whatever. Consciousness lends the whole thing its existence by taking itself as such with its own perception. There is never a separate finite self. It is consciousness about itself.

There is another worldview. Life is BOTH dual and non dual. There is a spectrum from dual to non dual as consciousness becomes progressively more subtle.

With joy I listen from the perspective that: Consciousness arises from two conflicting sensory inputs.

There is still the "hard" problem though - how do the two forces interact? The two forces being will/spirit/consciousness and the spacetime physical world.

Isn't this also said in Christianity if you look at the creed in german - there is the phrase: "Denn durch ihn und mit ihm und in ihm, ist dir Gott allmächtiger Vater, in der Einheit des heiligen Geistes, alle Herrlichkeit und Ehre, jetzt und in Ewigkeit, Amen." This sounds so abstract and somehow artificial.. but with the words of Rupert it instantly makes perfect sense. 👌

Well it's nice that all of our knowledge about consciousness is merely an experience of a temporal knowing of abstract concepts irrelevant to the true nature of consciousness.

The conversation between them was awesome, Rupert's explanation about consciousness, finite self and the addiction to desire was very objective. I still having doubts about our necessity to sleep and, as per Rupert's answer, for consciousness there is no differentiation in the states (sleep - dream - deep dream), is that so? Another doubt that I have, if there aren't different dimensions, what about more evolved civilisation? If there are, are they also God's dream?

From where yours doubt camm from? Invastigacion if you missing somthing and ask who is this one have doubt and what this doubt teling you and be aware of nature of arising doubt ,,dimension someone search cannot be outside concisness to bring awernes now your mind cal douwn then real peace arise and doubt disapeears

Ofc there are more evolved civilisations. The universe is too big and exist for too long for not having more civilisations then us. They are also consciouss if they evolved enough

One guy goes to Pharmacy and asks, do you have something for flies? I have a lot of them in the place I leave. Sure sir, we have. With this green spray you will push the fly in the corner, with this blue spray you will weaken it. And finally with the red one you will terminate it permanently. Wow, but, can I just do sljass with my hand? Yes, you can. That's the other way.

My awareness of causal/ temporal discontinuities suggests that I had been unaware for a time. I could not experience unawareness as it was happening, but I could experience it like a memory, or like deductive reasoning. I could know it by inference.

An interesting example of Rupert retracing himself back home : kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3m7mIV8hLR4eJY 32 min - Clear identificatio, and a sense of separation (concern around confused expression) 33 min - Noticing that being is caught in identification, attentions move to see it more clearly. Rupert removes a piece of clothing to help let go of the identification 36 min - There is a clear return of freshness, less identified, speaking clearly, softly, slowly, and directly from being. 1. Notice departure from being. 2. Retrace back to being 3. Rest as being 4. Express from being : )

Probably it's very interesting and intelligent. Personally I must say it seems very abstract and removed from any kind of everyday experience. And who prefers to watch the screen instead of the movie? It seems to be Spira's favorite metaphor but it seems strange the way he makes the screen into a kind active agent. Anyway I'm happy to be the fool who don't understand and I have to admit I feel that this easily can turn into some kind of verbal knowledge and intellectual theory that people can repeat - without really having any actual experience to back their claims up.

So,to me this is another take on Biocentrism..the idea that matter, things, reality itself only exists because of consciousness. Robert Lanza explains this in his 2 books on Biocentrism. If the tree falls in the forest ,if we are not there to hear it does it make a sound?..indeed,if we are not there the tree nor the forest exists.

Matter AND what matters are both important HOWEVER one comes First and one is second. Principles of life is not the cart IT is what drives us.
