From Lyla June's SAND 19 Talk:
Indigenous sciences, embedded and discussed through indigenous languages, have suffered great destruction. So many languages have gone extinct, and the ones that remain are not being supported. Lyla June discusses a tool for spurring the resurgence of ancestral epistemology and curriculum through indigenous-led universities.
Join Dr. Lyla June Johnston in this illuminating community conversation as she shares ways in which indigenous food systems of the past and present teach us how to relate to our inner and outer world. These highly successful systems have been proven to operate based on respect, reverence, responsibility, and reciprocity.
We will explore, among others:
✅ How can we manifest these qualities within ourselves and into the world?
✅ How can ancient wisdom help with modern ills?
✅ How does inner life reflect in outer behavior?
Join us and bring your questions!

The video isn't getting enough likes or views, imho. My half-indigenous father was ashamed of his inheritance and hid it from everyone except my mother, since she met my grandmother. Unfortunately, grandma died when I was only 6 years old. I wish I could talk with her in person.
