How to develop MLSS | Quick Culture development in aeration tank | ETP Knowledge Junction

Hello, I recently completed my post graduation and joined CETP (Textile Wastewater) of 100 MLD in this month. Due to certain reasons, secondary treatment was interpreted and now I have to restart it from begining, there is no culture present in aeration tank. So, approx how much Super 24 power will require to develop the culture, or which criteria I should consider to calculate the amount of power required.

Sir ! our water quality of aeriatipn of our ETP tank is poor, becterialess and black in colour .if we drain out all water from aeriatipn tank and fill clean and fresh water in aeriation tank then after we start process to generate becteria through dosing cow dung, and juggery. I can understand this situation. Culture ko food Milana bahut jaruri hai agar culture ko food nahin milta hai to vah dead Ho jaate Hain. Isiliye aapko culture ko food Dena bahut jaruri hai iske liye aap apne plant mein 3 tareeke apna sakte ho, maine khud inhe use kiya hai:: 1. Civil water ko bypass kr sakte ho use plant process ke last step mein direct use kar sakte ho. 2. High COD effluent ko low COD Effluent ke sath mix kar ke feed water taiyar kar sakte ho. 3. Aur yah teesra Tarika aapko thoda Ajeeb lagega Lekin in ya bhi ek effective Tarika hai Jo Main khud use kiya hai apne plant mein Methanol ko dilute karke aap feeding kara sakte ho.

Conditions could be vary depending the nature of wastewater, ambient conditions, effluent quality ect. typical values are; Desirable range: MLSS around 3,000 and mg/l and SVI = 100 to 200 ml/g. This would produce a clear and good quality effluent (sludge forms a uniform blanket and capture more particles before settling). SVI = 80 ml/g or less, (rapid settling characteristics). Typically in extended aeration conditions. Effluent BOD probably reach the target, however, TSS may be higher. MLSS would be higher in such a condition (4000 mg/l). SVI = 250 ml/g or higher (usually the system is still in startup phase) would cause poor selling and poor compaction of settled sludge (filamentous sludge bulking as well). MLSS would be around 1000 mg/L.
