I can completely understand why it's difficult to let go of a part of your identity that you've held for so long. But just to let you know Isa (Jesus) peace be upon him means a lot to us too Jacqueline, as does his blessed mother Mary. If you want to read the Qur'an, maybe start with Surah Maryam, the chapter about Mary. Perhaps this will let you appreciate how important they are to us as Muslims. I became a Muslim this year along with my three daughter's 13yrs 8yrs and 6yrs old. Remember that it's a time of test and becoming a Muslim and Allah s.w.t would always be by your side. I cried because I feel like I don’t appreciate this gift, this blessing and luck of being born a Muslim into a Muslim family. The joy on that old man’s face after finding Islam is just priceless. I cried because I think about my imperfections and my transgressions, my weaknesses and all the haram I surround myself with. And I even though I know in my heart that Allah loves me I’m also wary of the punishments and the need to better myself...I can’t keep postponing it. Hi Felicia, 1 How many Muslim countries did you visit in the past? 2 So many of the rules that people think that they are Islamic are not, they are either customs or cultural, like the female genital, it an African or sub-Asia problem, performed by both Muslims or not Muslims. 3 religion is used by many politicians to stay in power, so they add and remove what suits them. 4 so many males use religion as an excuse to oppress women, but when you discuss the matter with them you find that it's them, not the religion. 5 for us to say something is Islamic, we need a source either from the Quran (Word of God) or Hadith (saying, or acts of the prophet) narrated by his companions. By the way, while a female used to be very oppressed before the time of our prophets, you find that the second biggest narrator of Hadith is Aicha, who we consider as our beloved mother of the believers. Huge numbers of a man used to queue at her door to take from her knowledge. 6 many people did bad things and did not use religion and got away with it when someone is an evil person, he can find thousands of excuses to justify his deeds. Hitler, Stalin, Mao killed millions. 7 It's not trusting humanity, it's about being realistic and understanding human nature, If there is a big dangerous hole in a garden, I will not say to my son do not go to the hole only, I will put a fence around the hole, because if he plays in the garden, slowly slowly, one day he might fall. Having a generation of adulterers, bastards, sexual crimes (check statistics both in the west and east) is the hole, you saying to people, play in the garden but not go to the hole, control yourself, he might do that once, twice 10 times, but one day he or she be emotional or weak or...and he will fall. Islam system (the rules backed up by Islamic source, not practices) build a fence, that fence looks ugly sometimes if you focus on one piece alone, but when you check the fence as a whole, it's different. I which that I have time to discuss it more, but I am starting a new job. Just as a side note, following Islamic rules did not stop my wife from prospering, I helped with the kids for her to finish her English literature degree, and now she is a happy teacher. while others allow all the steps to take people to the wrong place, then tell them at the last step to control themselves, Islam believes that this method is wrong and does not work in the real world, so it stop you from the first step, which is very far, but it will lead many people to the wrong place.

we are at ramadan now take it as chance to become close to him again ask him to guide you , think between yourself that praying helps only you and listen to quran and try to read again and remember that hadith : Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: I live in the thought of My servant and I am with him as he remembers Me. (The Holy Prophet) further said: By Allah, Allah is more pleased wth the repentance of His servant than what one of you would do on finding the lost camel in the waterless desert. When he draws near Me by the span of his hand. I draw near him by the length of a cubit and when he draws near Me by the length of a cubit. I draw near him by the length of a fathom and when he draws near Me walking I draw close to him hurriedly. praying and reading quran and remember Allah daily, its our protection in this life.

Having prayed that let me tell you the most powerful way of regaining your strength and conviction to pray. Do tasbeeh, SUBHANALLAH, ALHAMDOLILLAH AND ALLAHO AKBAR, thirty three times each. Then send Salat(durood) on the Prophet peace be upon him 100 times but for the rest of the day say Astaghfirullah as many times as possible but at least 500 times. Please do this every day. In sha Allah you will see things change for you immediately. I hope it will help you and may be someone else too. May Allah SWT draw us closer to Him. Ameen

I haven't spent my life more beautifully than I have today in these 2 hours. I was born in a Muslim family, but the signs you get from to time, such like in this video. It is just absorbed by your soul and I choose to remain Muslim because in Islam I have seen all Human beings regardless of their background, color, tribe, region, country etc together praying side by side in unison to their Creator. He missed the most crucial part. The purification(zekat) is through suffer. Allah says "you will suffer," "you havent been brought to play around," "you think we won't trial and have you suffer like those who were in the past" etc. Love can be only created through suffer. İf there's no suffer, then there's no love. For an example, when one gets married they vow "the good and the bad day, sickness and health... etc" And if a husband leave the wife in the bad day. Wife would say: "he left me in the bad day, he left me when I sick, he didn't really love me." Thus, love exist only through suffer. One can't respond to God's love like this: "yeah, God I love you" while receiving the goods, lying down, driking goods, living a debauchee life where he doesn't suffer. Will he say "God I hate you" if God takes the goods away from him? Who knows? A trial is needed. A suffer is needed. A share of love, a respond of love is needed for the eyes, mind, ears, skin, knowledge, guidance we received from the God.
