A real scientist would not release something like this without research and countless trials of safety and would never do this for profit. A thought occured to me. Wouldnt it make very little sense for the lab to be set up where different species of flowers existe next to each other? At best you contaminate the samples and data at worst both plants die or there is a weird mixing happening right? Wouldnt it make more sense for them to be in their own chamber?

Main character strongly reminds me of the person from Chernobyl series that ran the test that blew up the reactor. Refused to follow safety rules to get ahead and refused to accept evidence of screw up. Had to basically forced violently to face reality.

Seems like an interpretation of how drugs like weed can affect people. Rather long comment about my own interpretion of the movie and some parallels to our present day: But I also interpreted it as cognitive dissonance and sunk cost fallacy. Cognitive dissonance, because people keep denying the observations brought by Bella. She is the most rational person in this movie. A lot of people who can see the danger of something are constantly being gaslit by insecure people who cannot accept things as they are and instead projects their own interpretations as THE truth. Sounds like how people with long covid are being treated nowadays. Sunk cost fallacy, because of how everything else might decline because people will care more about these flowers than anything else. Safety before profit. Ensuring safety means you care more about the people in your life than money. Again with Covid.. sure, companies want to sell medicines and vaccines, but by pretending everything is "normal", that just shows how humanity haven't learned anything. It's not fine when more people get sicker, illnesses getting worse because covid has ruined immune systems, and forcing chronically ill but also some disabled people to isolate AGAINST THEIR WILL (because a lot people aren't protecting themselves and others, I'm thankful for the people who do, and entire cultures who respect people's wishes to not become ill or worse off). Yes, Covid might not be as dangerous as before, but that doesn't mean it's harmless either. Enough with the black-and-white thinking! Scientists who cares more about the wellbeing of people than their own potential breakthroughs are the best scientists. Just because you CAN do something, that doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Religion is a real world equivalent. As Jesus himself preached that ppl should give up "thrift", their families and their friends for this world will soon come to an end and those who do not follow him by then will be casted into everlasting fire. "I come not to bring peace but a sword"... Not only christianity but monotheistic religion in itself is always about whorshipping a single entity that supposedly has all the answers and stands above all. It is totalitarian. Believing so strongly that you are doing the right thing by trying to convince others to believe it too you end up either hurting others or abandoning them when they oppose your belief and would rather retain their own opinion. There are countless true stories of ppl abandoning, hurting or even killing the ppl closest to them just because they alledgedly acted against "God's will" ... they oftentimes try to defend their crimes by saying stuff that comes down to: "I did what had to be done." or "It is what God wanted me to do" . Think about it...
