Having been around since they named themselves more or less since 1978, The Scientists released their 1st album in 1978 and never looked back.
Singer Kim Salmon has led the band through thick and thin alongside long standing founder members Tony Thewlis and Boris Sujdovic and in the 80’s were Australia’s most coveted garage psyche band playing with all the American and U.K. bands of their ilk.
Sadly they split in 1987 and did various other bands until a reformation in 2006.
There were festival gigs but few until 2018 which has seen more activity so this was a very rare show to a packed London crowd with people coming far and wide to see them (Mitch-from Bristol!, Hette from Berlin…) and they didn’t disappoint with a truly wigged out and sonically loud set.
Here’s a song from their sixth Lp from 1986,”Weird Love.” and the hope that our ears will bleed again in their presence sooner than later.
