My question is this: I thought scientologists hated gay people.... So how is Emily supposedly a current member? How come none of the people who are talking about the situation are mentioning that since Emily is openly a lesbian?
@NatalieLifeAfterACultАй бұрын
L. Hubbard dictates that gay people cannot be trusted and are criminals and sexual deviants. Emily can be a Scientologist in good standing, and not be an active Scientologist. It is nuanced in the cult. As long as she doesn’t speak against Scientology, they look the other way. Scientology is way more concerned about Scientologist publicly disavowing Scientology, than they are Scientologist, being gay.
@bravo1495Ай бұрын
@@NatalieLifeAfterACult thank you for that explanation. I will admit that my knowledge about them is very limited, mostly from the South Park episode that made fun of them and a few things from different interviews. I still can't understand how so many people can believe so heavily in the writings of a less than mediocre at best Sci-Fi author. I just recently moved and am working a lot of overtime but once I'm settled in I plan to go through your channel and previous videos and educate myself more on the subject. Thank you again.

I saw in other channel that Emily's other band was paid for by her parents. Which raises a more general question of how was it possible she was actually in a band but simultaneously allowed to still be in Scientology, like it's actually not forbidden?
@NatalieLifeAfterACult2 ай бұрын
@@RetzyWilliams the band was funded by another band members parent. Emily was not in the sea organization, she would be free to join a band. Though, she was born and raised in the cadet organization, which is part of the sea. She isn’t in the sea now.

So what has that to do with Emily, you are not your parents!!!
@NatalieLifeAfterACult2 ай бұрын
She might feel differently about supporting Scientology, if she knew the truth of what her mom experienced. When I was finally open with my mom about the abuses I experienced in the Sea Org, my mom left Scientology with me. Scientologist don’t communicate about these things. They are kept hidden and the victim convinced they deserved it. It’s the same with SA in Scientology. I kept mine a secret for 20 years, because I was being a “good Scientologist.”

Im confused Natalie. I thought you said you were happy for her opportunity. Understood why she couldn't speak out. Now your saying what exactly?
@NatalieLifeAfterACult2 ай бұрын
I am happy for her opportunity. I understand the pressure and mind control around feeling you can’t speak out. She still needs to take responsibility for her own actions in regard to Scientology. She can’t sing the songs from Linkin Park and not be an advocate for mental health. I think it’s possible to feel both things at the same time. 😊 Leaving Scientology is complicated. She has to be willing to lose her family. Scientology is considered to be one of the hardest cults to recover from. Nothing happens overnight.

I'm a little bit late to this scandal, but I don't think I've seen this mentioned anywhere yet, which I find so strange. Also, this perhaps means little in the greater scheme of the situation, and I may as well be wrong but... Could it be that Emily had THE chat with the Linkin Park boys about her past and present, expressing how she's essentially trapped in an impossible place, and that lead to them collectively, perhaps naively, deciding their first single off their introductory album would be, arguably, anti-religion? I can totally see the Linkin Park that I've known forever trusting the fans would lean into that interpretation and just get the message Emily's singing out loud - that she feels helpless and in the grips of abuse by a powerful institution, but she sees what they are and what they do, and wants to free herself of it. I speak about that and I do it here, as opposed to the channel that introduced me to you (Aaron's) because I've listened to you taking a more hunane and understanding stance in regards to her and her experience, which I share and believe to be fair. Is that to say that singing an intentionally cryptic song only partly about how religious organizations are inherently corrupt enough, even if it comes from someone who they knew would be asked to send some sort of message? No, probably not. But I wouldn't put past Emily and Linkin Park thinking art could speak loud enough. You know? It's a 90s kid thing. 😬

I love Emily since she started Dead Sara and nothing will change my mind about her. Emily was born in to Scientology, the last known evidence we have her in Scientology was 12 years ago, the same time she started Dead Sara. You should know how dangerous it is to speak out against the cult. She needs time.
@NatalieLifeAfterACultАй бұрын
It’s more dangerous to be silent about Scientology, than to stand up to Scientology, when you know the truth about it, from my perspective. Emily should be loved and she should have all the success she deserves. I want that for her. She is talented. What I also want for her is true freedom from this abusive, homophobic, human trafficking cult. Her mother was kept in a Sea Org prison known as The Hole, along with many others who were mentally and physically abused. Emily doesn’t know this because it’s against Scientology rules to tell her. Scientologist can’t read or watch anything that questions or exposes Scientology. Before I broke free from Scientology mind control, I kept my SA a secret from my family for 20 years, because I was following the rules and staying silent. It was covered up by Scientology. They went on to cover up much more SA. As they did before me. Scientologists have died by their own hand because they were denied proper mental health treatment. This is why I feel, it’s more dangerous to stay silent about Scientology, than to stand up to them and say no more.
