OK, the Amia must really be confident if it thought the "powerful beast to be killed" referred to him. I'm guessing they got a pig or a cow. Considering the amount of people on the colony station I'm thinking it is a cow, then again, a pig can get up to 1000 lbs.

I think they got a sizeable amount of turkey or similar as it's seems to be a feat for something like Christmas and they likely fear cross species contamination between this avian alien and their birds.

Wait... Rick kindof ruined his whole universe's timeline. The LightFeather was mentioned in the story "The Worst Species in the Galaxy" where they made first contact with humans stuck on a StaatStan colony ship. If this story is BEFORE that story then the Captain and Crew wouldn't have been as fearful of humans. If THAT story came first, then the narrator of this story wouldn't have been confused and alarmed about the translations of the eaves dropped convo. Also, they'd have had a translation working already. This definitely breaks canon.

I’m almost certain that that story was not first contact between species. Just one of the incredibly rare cases that an amia meets a human. Which is probably one of the main reasons the amia translation databases weren’t prepared for human languages.
