Been nice watching that. Took me back a bit. I still have clicky knees and wrists from sitting in that position for hours each day back when i was a teenager

09 was about when I started getting involved too. Hard to believe that even just ten years ago I was still reading about quite a few of the old techniques. Hell, I distinctly remember reading about "thin black" shadows and Goblin Green bases, even in old articles from 05/06! And yes, my knees are shot too.

If you use coloured drawing inks be aware that many will fade especially in sunlight. I know my Winsor and Newton ones are not light fast, they are made with fugitive dyes, only the black and white are truly permanent. FW Acrylic ink from Daler Rowney is supposed to be light fast that would be a good choice if you want models to stay vibrant.

Anyway to see how some of these old miniatures have held up. I have repainted all my old minis from the early 90s but my traitor space marines are chipping badly because of how they got stored or maybe it was the primer I used on them??? I did wash them before I painted them.

@@SnakeWorksStudio Yes and no. I've seen some young'uns surprised that techniques that get lauded online as "discovered" were known by old'uns back in the day. The more things change... I will say that while I have a ton of nostalgia for the old days, I do appreciate some of the more modern conveniences becoming more accessible. We all knew That Guy who used an airbrush, but getting one and learning how to use it is SO much easier now. Same with wet pallets; etc. etc.
