Regarding relieving menstrual pain with an orgasm: Speaking as a cis woman, I will certify that it absolutely does work. A good orgasm will reduce cramps down to barely noticeable for several hours. The drawback is that it also causes the flow rate of menstrual blood to increase for those same several hours. I think the tradeoff is worth it.

Thanks for this episode. I would be really interested in a follow up covering what we know about hormonal transition and changes to orgasm and sexuality in general. As a trans woman I have experienced quite a lot of change and it feel to me this is largely due to my hormones. Would love to know if we have any science on this. Feels like it can relate to the"why do women have orgasms?" Questions since if trans women get 'female orgasms' from hormones then perhaps it shows it's not linked to maleness but testosterone anyway. Like I suppose more clearly the same at root but modified by present hormones.

@SisterPegasus

@@hahabearseathoney (edited for clarity and details) Hi! I replied with that because OP didn't specify if by "woman" they meant a cis woman, a trans woman or just any afab individual, so I thought that maybe they didn't know Noah was trans (and before you say that in the video he mentioned his periods and stuff, OP might not have watched the whole video, a lot of people comment before watching the whole thing, and it's a darn long video). And from what I've gathered from Noah's videos, taking T hasn't significantly changed the mechanics of his clitoris and its sensitivity and pleasure function (the clit did increase in size but that's the biggest change), I could be wrong however and if you know of a video where he says his sensitivity has changed drastically, I'll be glad to stand corrected. Personally I think he totally counts as a person who's orgasms come from a clitoris, as opposed to the 3 other guys. Didn't mean offense to anyone, to be clear, just giving my two cents.
@meyu1468
@meyu1468 2 жыл бұрын
@@SisterPegasus actually, on T the clitoris grows into a small bulge-like structure and very much changes sensitivity i believe. I’m not sure where u got your information from… Noah’s sexual experience absolutely cannot represent a cis woman’s sexual experience, both because of the physical differences (whether the difference in how they would feel about their body being shown/touched which Noah talks about in the video or the actual change in sensitivity) but also how women are socially treated in sexual situations. Also remember there are completely different concentrations and ratios of hormones in his body now and he went through male puberty. This video makes it pretty clear that woman and female should not be considered the same and i know u didn’t mean it to come off that way, but please assume they meant ‘woman’ and not ‘afab’ because they’re very different and the issue is particularly important to nuance when talking about sex.

In Judaism we believe that women must feel pleasure or the man has failed. The waiting until marriage thing is from us, mainly because we have a lot of laws and beliefs about preserving the "seed" to keep our culture alive through genocide and persecution. This is also one of the possible reasons that sodomy is outlawed in Judaism; it can't be used for reproduction. It is a little outdated now, however many still follow the rules strictly as a means to restore the 6 million we lost in the Holocaust. The shame around sex definitely has a basis in the Torah and Talmud, however it definitely became a part of culture through Christianity. I think initially Christianity took chastity very seriously, which took hold of European culture. Most Jewish sects (I know they're a bit different in the UK than where I am in the US as far as names) look at these laws with historical context when choosing whether or not to strictly obey them. Orthodox Jews believe less in context, however that doesn't mean they're homophobic or have sex through sheets (I have no idea where that one came from), there is still a lot of diversity of thought. Islam is more like Judaism when it comes to sex, as far as I know, besides some added laws in the Quran. EDIT: On circumcision, it was introduced to Judaism for cleanliness and to distinguish us from pagans, and became a tradition. Christianity said it was no longer necessary. Islam reintroduced it in MENA. It was brought back into the US as a means to reduce pleasure and masturbation, by the guy who invented Kellogg's cereal. (I cannot make this up, what's wrong with us in the US) Our doctors still push in on new parents... despite the evidence that using soap and a condom works just as well.

The vulva is the official term for the whole thing, people mistakingly say vagina, but the vagina is specifically the part of the vulva that is the opening to the birth canal. Not enough people know this as sex Ed doesn’t seem cover these basics 😭 we should all be saying vulva instead of vagina when we’re talking about all the collective parts (clitoris, vagina, inner and outer labia, etc.)

I think I agree with luke on the animal decision discussion. Think about kitchens. Food is good, and we associate the kitchen with food. Often, you'll find yourself just wandering to the kitchen and absentmindedly checking the cupboards for food, even when you're not hungry. You aren't making an actual conscious decision to open a cupboard, it's just a behaviour that you subconsciously do because it's favourable dopamine-wise Animals, imo, don't necessarily need to understand what's going on consciously. And that is a big discussion, do animals have a conscious mind or is it just this subconscious presence. They don't have speech or anything to articulate complex, abstract ideas in their head. This becomes incredibly important with dog training, because dogs are actually very predictable. A goof postive-reinforcement trainer, like kikopup (look her up on youtube) knows, or can guess accurately, what associations that dog makes based on what you do. This is also why punishment is so bad, because animals subconscious decisions will be influenced by this. If you scald a dog for peing on the floor, you might often find them peing when you're not around. They might wait for you to leave before peeing. That is NOT because they are being defiant or disobedient. It's because their brains want to minimise punishment and maximise pleasure. Easiest way to do that is to continue what they are doing but just avoid the punishment by waiting for you to leave. They aren't being 'stealthy' or defiant or disobedient. They are just changing behaviour based on the available pleasure and pain information Don't know how that comment turned from 'animals may not think like we do' to 'don't punish your animals' but really, I just think that assuming animals can make intelligent decisions like us can be dangerous. Of course, that isn't to say they don't associate sex with childbirth, but I think it is unlikely.

Dogs are sentient and aware beings. Spend some time with them Luke. If you everr come to sweden I'll show you how to communicate with them and you'll see how aware they are. This is demeaning to animals... I use to like all of you guys. In sweden we have a word that is "artegoism", is the word species put together with egocentricity, it means to look at the human being as the only one better than any other species and only put human needs first. It also means to thikn of the human as the only one capable of thinkign ahead, calculate and be consciously aware. My late dog use to hare german shepherds. When we met one she specifically disliked she use to calculate what route they would take (going the other way) and then not take a shortt cut, but a longer route so that she would run into it from the side. She was fully aware of what dog it was, that she wanted to give it hell (she barked more then she bit) and how to find it through a labyrinth of houses and streets.

The first film I ever saw was actually Robin Hood, which is really cool because it’s one of my all time favourites now! My mother said that it made it easy to get me to sleep, and I still often fall asleep whilst watching it on the sofa lmao :)

25:20 fun fact from a not entomologist (but stolen from the one and only entomo), this behavior regarding praying mantis is commonly observed in captivity, but only very rarely in nature. The reason this is common in captivity is because of the lack of an escape.

This probably isn't the first movie I've watched but the first one I remember is It (1990). I was really young and was sleeping in my dad's bed with him. He was watching it on the television and at some point, I woke up and watched along. It was TRAUMATISING. It was so terrifying and yet I couldn't stop watching it. One scene that stuck in my mind was when one of the girls was in the bathroom and blood started to fill up the sink. She screamed and her parents rushed in but they couldn't see the blood. They smeared blood all over her face when trying to comfort her. I might be wrong, I'm just going off of memory here

Bonobos and many many other animals are known to effectively mate with their third cousin. It's enough change in the genes that it balances out to be pretty much a perfect match

I think what Luke was trying to say with regards to animals not knowing there will be an outcome of sex is almost like all of the training and complex tasks involve previous experience. So dog or rat knows pleasure will come after a certain action is done or bad feeling after certain action because its happened before. They wont be anticipating it the first time. But with sex, dogs hump other dogs because its instinct to do so, not because they know baby or even pleasure comes out of it because they haven't necessarily done it before. They certainly wont be able to have a thought enough to know sex= baby because its too long term. But sex = pleasure they could understand after once or twice of getting that outcome. But many dogs for example hump legs or other dogs incorrectly just on instinct but have never had any form of sex, and dogs who have been neutered also do it, so they wont acheive orgasm (maybe still have good feelings from it though). Repeated times they will likely know that sex = pleasure though because of conditioning etc

Being neutered does not mean inability to orgasm. It just inhibits sperm production. Individuals, who had their gonads removed can still orgasm, just not reproduce.

@@deadlymelody27 happy to educate. The only thing I forgot, of course, egg follicles are not produced either, if a female has the gonads removed. And Orgasm feels different, if the uterus had to be removed, because this muscle also contracts alongside the pelvic muscles. Ask any trans male, who had hysterectomy :)
