Great drifting man, rain makes drift a lot easier on the tires. I also had doubts about the speed of the car when i bought mine, but it is actually a very fast car. You may lack horsepower on a racetrack, but on this street this things a beast. Instead of Turbo, I simply lightened the car. No spare tire, pull off panels, no back seat, carbon fiber here and there. Got it down to 2500 lbs with me in it. I know more horsepower means more fun to most people, but the riddle of the FRS is to maintain momemtum. Anybody can push a pedal in straight line, learn to corner. Plus, if you cant get it done with 200 hp, you may not be as good a driver as you think you are.

@DeadNightLife There are slight differences between all three subtypes. Aside from the aesthetics the Scion is more street friendly with softer front suspension, the Toyota is a little more aggressive and is rumored to include a supercharger when the boosted model comes out, and the BRZ "STI" version is planned to be turbocharged.
@brettroche13 жыл бұрын
@GeoForReal It's rear. The FR in FR-S refers to the engine / drive wheels layout. (Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive)

Great video can't wait till this hits the streets and see what people do with them. Been hearing its akin to the Rx-8 as in under powered by some but handles very well if not better than its competition in its price range. Needless to say I'm exciting Toyota is getting back into the Sport Coup segment.
@PhantomGett13 жыл бұрын
I cannot wait for these cars. Lighter than both the 370 and the Genesis. Cheaper too. But what I'm really interested in the the Afternarket! TRD is going to be releasing some good stuff. They released an S/C for the tC, so I can't wait to see what happens with this thing. Great Video Gushi!

@PanikProne In regards to the 240 rear: of course its an open diff. Though capable of handling 350whp+ (which, yes, I've seen personally) - Though the open diff won't hamper a decent driver in the S13/14 chassis too horribly. Podium finishes have been won by 240 drivers with open diffs at Streetwise events in the past.

It's a 4 cylinder, 2.0 liter engine. N/A from the manufacturer, it's to be expected. The engine is quick. It's an STI engine without a turbo. GReddy proved that with boost it pushes 600 HP. The car was designed to be light, nimble and quick, and as far as I've seen it's just that.

looking real good! With s2k and rx-8 gone, there are no real affordable sports cars on the market, only semi-muscle/luxury 370z/z4 left. The 86 looks like a real sports car: balanced, lightweight, lsd. good job toyota/subaru!
@avenged8fold112 жыл бұрын
actually yes they do. depending on the circumstance of the corner, your speed and many other factors determine whether you could brake drift, feint or e brake drift, or even shift lock. there are many ways to drift and a REAL professional would take advantage of ALL of them
Thats pretty dam good for a 200hp factory car. Cant wait for these to come out :)
@AndroidJdm13 жыл бұрын

@PainIs4ThaWeak85 240sx has a trash rear diff hence welding, AE86 is a very rare hard to find chassis code with the matching block. However, I would have to throw the RX-7 Turbo II in there. Has a fantastic rear-end and more than enough power to abuse for a streetable drifter.

@tomasortega1 your silly - the amount of aftermarket support for this car is going to dwarf that of the gen coupe - plus this car at factory weight is 2700lbs which means 22-2300lbs will not be a problem and your gen coupe will NEVER realize that weight or dynamics this car is capable of . This will be swap capable and their will be tons of STi type conversions possible with 500+whp setups much sooner than the gen coupes - youll see

How can you compare this to an inline-4 vertical engine? It's a subaru sti engine without the turbo, and 2 less axles to spin. A stroker kit, fuel rail, injectors, and a turbo is all it takes, which can be done for under $10k.
@ahudson20129 жыл бұрын
im super curious! and hope someone knows what im talking about. alot of the time, mid slide, if i touch the redline in second gear itll drop the power immensely. causing it to grip and whip. Is it possibly to idk not have a cut off in power like that? Because once it bounces off the limiter it cuts power hard and that sucks...

@highereducationact I'm going to make a quick guess and say that you're ken gushi (a total beast) or one of his many female (or male) stalkers (kinda creepy). there were some times when you had to pull the ebrake multiple times (like at 2:56) Why? Just trying to learn, not trying to be critical or anything (as if I had a right to be!!), also what techniques would you use to drift an ff with a foot ebrake (worst situation to be in for drift) I can't seem to get the rears to break loose if I flick

ur right- excluding the quick part. I have a 200+hp car, and believe me, its not quick. 2.) do you have ANY idea how much money it takes to get 600hp. greddy can do it cheap, but the average joe will have to spend 10-20k dollars. and if you think 200hp from is 2ltr is supposed to be impressive. honda has made numerous 2 liters that exceed 200hp- one of which has 260.
