im definitely looking to get this exhaust. i have seen that if its not loud enough then the megan racing midpipes should do the job. with the megan racing midpipes, do they get rid of any cats or resonators? am i still gonna be able to pass emissions if they do? any rasp? im not so familiar with exhaust systems so i apologize. also can u link them, i cant seem to find the right model number.

Nothing is modified on the exhaust. Its only the Axle-back on.

Actually I didn't in this video. I didn't get the TRD flow accelerator until a couple weeks ago. Soon I will be installing Dezod Green Headers. BTW I am tuned now lol. A lot has changed since this video.

I just purchased the borla and installed it in my 2014 tc it sounds really nice but not loud enough for me and I saw you said that I could add the megan mid pipe to make it louder. How much louder does it get? And will it sound ricey?

It will get a lot louder with megan mid pipe. it won't sound ricey like a little honda(i'm guessing you referring to the high raspy sound of a dumb honda civic), but it will be as loud as one.

What engine is in this? 2AZ-FE? I have a 2010 Toyota Matrix XRS with that engine, and it's an enigma in the aftermarket world. Hardly can find anything of my car exactly. They don't make an axle-back system, but of course a much more expensive cat-back, which I do not need or want. I'm hoping to slap on a universal exhaust from Borla or another big brand in hopes to get just a little more noise from that side of the car.

I just had the borla cat back exhaust installed, pretty upset about the sound as it's the engine is way louder than the exhaust. What do you recommend next? headers or CAI?

There is a couple of options: 1.) If you want the exhaust to be louder, I recommend Megan Racing midpipe (its loud as fuck lol) 2.) If you want it louder with power gains, I recommend dezod green headers. Both options are loud and no rasp. Also grab yourself a drop in K&N filter and match it with a TRD intake flow accelerator (part # PTR0352110AB). Its a great combination, its like having the TRD Cold Air Intake without spending the $400 price tag.

How did you remove the stock axle back? My 2 bolts on there are rusted and tight af I can’t seem to take them off .

TrapKingz i didnt have that issue. You will want to use some PB Blaster and let the bolts soak in that for some minutes

Hey man first of great video! Im def. trying to get this exhaust and get some Megan Midpipes but my state (Maryland) has strict smog regulation laws. So do you know if the megan midpipes have a cat on them? If not, do you know any midpipes that have a cat on them? Lmk, thanks!

Megan racing midpipe do not have a cat on them, only a resonator. There isn't any midpipes currently made for our car that does have a cat. BTW, you should be fine passing smog with megan racing midpipe. On the tC the main cat is on the header, that's the one that will pass or fail you. The only way they will probably try to fail you, is for having a loud exhaust.

I know its apples and oranges but you can have someone tune out the rear O2 sensor on your car thus making the ECM not set off CEL light, my Camaro SS has no cats, or most emission stuff and it passes the state test.

+Deeana Pritchard Well it's a couple options you can do if you want louder. *1st Option* You can buy the Borla Exhaust, put it on and see how you like the sound level (Thats what I did). If it's not loud enough for you, buy the Megan Racing Middle Section Pipes (Model Number: MIDPIPE-STC11) to add to your exhaust. Switching the mid pipe will make it way louder, and the Borla Exhaust will help you keep that nice deep tone. (At first, I felt that the Borla could of been louder, but after driving with it for a while I changed my mind. I ended up not buying the Megan Racing Middle Section. The Borla by itself is an perfect balance between being louder than stock and not annoying.) *2nd Option* Agency Power CatBack Exhaust System. This is a full catback exhaust, which includes rear section exhaust and mid pipe. This exhaust is loud, in my option too loud and a bit too raspy. This exhaust might irritate you a bit if you drive on the freeway/highway often. *3rd Option* Tsudo CatBack Exhaust System. Now this exhaust sound very nice and deep! This exhaust is loud as f**k also. Only negative thing I can say is this exhaust gets a bit raspy when you rev past like 5k.

No, not at all. I started/rev the car without the muffler for a second while I was doing the install. Damn car was so ridiculously loud without the exhaust, it did sound good though lol. My neighbors was looking outside to see what all the noise was, good things i'm friends with my neighbors lol. I would never do a muffler delete, to much attention.
