In German the names are Madame Peretta and Steckdov, which isn't a phonetic anagram like in the English version, so there wasn't really a connection between the two. To me at least.

I don’t think Luigi jumping in place is a bug. When jumping on a flat, even surface he follows you. It’s when you’re jumping between platforms or uneven terrain that he jumps in place. They don’t want you to use Luigi’s jump for platforming, because if you mess up then they’ll get separated. They just want you to focus on Mario, and let Luigi do the platforming himself. @Folutu29 күн бұрын
I think in Reclusa's case it helps that you get the "collect Bonds in your watering can" quest before you go into the Soli-Tree because he'll appear on the ship a couple times while you're progressing that quest and those small moments do wonders to establish his character to the player. Like, the most you know about him beforehand is that he is currently an egg and that if he awakens, he will turn the world of Concordia into a world of solitude, and that sounds very much like what a typical RPG evil god would be all about, then he hatches and traps most of the Concordians into their own pocketed illusions of paradise. He makes it clear early on that he very much enjoys what he does and that he will be a dick about it in ways that's easy for an actual human to understand, and that makes it very easy in turn for us to keep going so we can take him down.

51:53, *sigh, I really don't want to be the guy, but this part right here is apparent a pretty minor translation mistake, a genuine simple mistake that for some reason really annoying me to no end due to the misconception it created. I would say I'm pretty pissed even, which is completely unnecessary to being with, but still. To be more accurate and clear about my point, we have a localization mistake here. You see, there exist many ways to describe height, we have existed units of measurement designed specifically to measure exact lengths, but we also have unconventional terms to describe an approximate or vague value. Some may use ?? feet tall to measure height, while other cultures use ?? head tall to measure height. See where I'm going at? What happened here is that Starlow was meant to say she is an "eight-head-tall" beauty, not "eight-headed", so I'm afraid, biblically accurate Starlow was never a thing. In the Japenese script, Starlow was saying this: "す これは仮の姿だからね! 本当は八頭身の美女だし。" this is exact word by word. It's mostly the same message about how this form is only temporary. And she refers to herself as a beauty, using "head" tall as measurement. But apparently, translator machines tend to switch [八頭身] into [eight-headed], which is what ultimately lead to this misconception. Now, I can't for the life of me, read, understand or even attempt to translate Japanese, but from what the Chinese version's text is saying, I'm pretty confident Starlow was using head-tall as measurement. I will not be saying the ENG translation is entirely wrong, since I'm unqualified for such thing. But I have the right to question if it was translated correctly. Which is likely what happened here. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as extremely arrogant, unreasonable or fun-ruining even, but this misunderstanding about Starlow being a biblically accurate entity is really bothering me to no end.
@DaNintendude27 күн бұрын
I saw a conversation on Discord last night where some people were talking about this. I'm actually glad that it's a localization error, because Starlow being a freaky angel just didn't feel right to me (as funny as it is). The conversation ended with someone asking if anyone took that line seriously, since it's clearly a joke. But yeah, I've definitely seen people treat it as genuine lore for Starlow, rather than a throwaway line, and this video definitely proved that, lol.

I don’t agree on the Bros attacks being too easy at all, it’s very easy to mess up the Zapparator is easy to mess up the timing on, the alignment on the Jump Helmet, the Bomb Derby requires a very specific rhythm that takes a while to master and the Conductor Connector is also pretty hard to master with the final X press being incredibly specific on the timing, I would constantly press it exactly as the two crosshairs aligned just for it to count it as too early or too late and do a Great attack instead.
@DaNintendude27 күн бұрын
Zapperator took me forever to get the hang of. There were tons of times early on where I only got to "Great" level, because my rhythm would be thrown off. Bomb Derby became the easiest bros attack once I figured it out, but it took awhile to get there. Especially since the rhythm is a bit different than in past games. Conductor Connector was horribly difficult. I never struggled with the final X press, but getting the analog stick to do what you want it to in the first phase was not simple to me. Clockout Blow was another that I screwed up a lot. Not because it's hard, but because it's long and monotonous. I would want the attack to be over and thus accidentally press the wrong bro's button, making the attack worthless. If you miss out on the final flashy excellent part, then your attack greatly reduces in usefulness.

I can see what they were going for with it, with this feeling of unresolved issues and stuff, but it should have gone in a direction where in one visit, everything crazy that happened, still happened, in order to keep the feeling of the villain uprooting the heroes in tact, replacing what is conventional with something fresh as opposed to adding more stuff for you to do and that if you're expecting the end, you are getting it, but it's not the one that you were fully expecting. Most of time your normal moves are op against most enemies, but having to fight 5 enemies makes you use either the limited plugs or the unbearable bros moves (and if you don't get excellent then you lost a couple of minutes of your life) -the part in which you need to look for the bonds is boring, you're prepared enough to fight reclusa, so why do you need to go again to each island and talk to some chars? The rest of the game is a solid 8.5 out of 10.

@@that1femboy643. I find with these comments that, 9 times out of 10, they're either lying or parroting opinions from elsewhere. As someone who played a lot of TOTK, the pacing was no different from BOTW in most spots. (In the exceptions, it was actually better paced in some regards, and it wasn't really that much more bloated than BOTW.)
@bartsneezinАй бұрын
@@dragonbornexpress5650 I played 50 hours of TOTK before dropping it because yes, the pacing is bad. In BOTW, after you leave the Plateau, you can unlock upgrades like enhancing gear or increasing inventory slots by amassing specific amounts of currency, such as rupees, korok seeds, or spirit orbs. You typically get this currency over time through exploration. The purpose of attaching upgrades in this game to currency is so that no matter which direction the player chooses after leaving the plateau, the player is always making progress if they are interacting with the environment and looking for secrets. TOTK's pacing feels worse to me because upgrading Link is now tied to specific locations and events, and if you choose to go anywhere that isn't Rito village after the great sky island, you make it way less likely to run into helpful abilities at a time where they won't be replaced by stronger late-game mechanics. Auto-build being hidden in a very specific part of the depths is probably the worst example of this. It's the most helpful and crucial ability in the game, and if you ignore the questline pointing to it and don't explore that area, you could easily go 100 hours without finding it. I also found that the scale of the Underground being so large was a detriment to the game's overall pacing. It's massive, has very little to do that isn't repetitive enemy camps and recycled bosses, and it takes hours and hours of exploration to find the light roots required to light up maybe 15% of it. This is also why I say the game is bloated. There is so much busy work in this game with very little reward. At least in BOTW when you do a shrine, you get a piece of a very necessary stamina or heart upgrade. Korok seeds also average 20 seconds or less to finish, like picking up a rock, dropping an apple, or moving a metal cube into place. In TOTK, reuniting Koroks with their lost friends takes several minutes of fucking around and usually a couple retries if your build sucks. This nets you a whopping two seeds. Completing one of the 50 fallen sign puzzles gets you... cooked food. Not worth it at all. You can spend a full hour in the underground and get... maybe one battery? There's so many instances of quests or tasks in this game that require a serious time investment but give stingy or unhelpful rewards. This feels like bloat to me and I felt like my time was being disrespected. Also the reused map is bad. I made sure to visit every major location in my playthrough before dropping it to see if enough had changed to make me think the reused map was good. Much of the new content (mushroom questline, finding logs for Lurelin village) was, much to my surprise, more unrewarding busywork. I would probably not love this game even if it had a new map because there's so much filler, but the reused map completely kills the fun of exploration for me. I've seen most of this before, and the game very rarely proved me wrong.

Definitely walked away with a much less positive feeling by the end of the game, so it's interesting to see where some people found it heartfelt, I think it's never been more disconnected and soulless in its narrative. They talk nice, but there's little heart in the dialogue or characters past the most basic of messages that plenty of anime and games have already done better without trying all that hard, in a fraction of the runtime. This game is just way too long, for much too little actual payoff. I have my own video yapping about my perspective, so felt I should check some others, but guess it just ain't for me.

We live in a timeline where a content rich RPG and very simple to understand story with lots of unique characters is somehow not enough.

@dough8869 If that was your experience with Brothership, more power to ya. I'll agree that it's simple to understand, at least.

@@DustyDust5 The content of the game isn’t subjective.

As someone who talked to every NPC multiple times throughout the game (as their dialogue changes throughout the game), I have to agree that really none of them had anything particularly interesting or unique to say. Only the characters with names at least had *something* going for them. This kinda made the beginning half very boring as they don't really do anything with the named characters until much later. But on the flipside, I do have to say that the messaging in like the last few hours suddenly got pretty strong

nice review👍 and the game is fucking long😭😭lm 140 hours plus and im still like 70 or 80% at the game, echoes of widsom 50 hours and i already beat the game😂 and i wish it had 6 plugs, one more plug would be perfect, five plugs makes u often change, but 6 plugs would do awesome damages
