Same age actually. Seven became a shadow assassin at the age for 15, killed an evil spirit for his sword at 16 and killed the sacred beast of XuanWu at 17. It was not long after that fight that he got ganged up on by all the other assassins and get stabbed by the girl he was protecting. Which then leads to the start of the series. So yeah, same age.
