I listen to this at work and think about when i have my first house how im literally making the basement 80's-90's themed. Wood paneling, CRT tv and retro games. Retro posters and what not. I'm very excited for that and i think it will happen within a couple years :) I love travelling back to those days in my mind and this song helps evoke it very well!

I'll be 40 in May. It's hard to believe that my childhood was 25 years ago and don't remember alot of special moments. I wouldn't say we grew up poor, but definitely didn't get to do the things most other kids did. Kinda wish things were a little better growing up, but I'm glad I at least got to experience a few things when I was a kid that were memorable. Dad unexpectedly passed in 2017, and hearing this takes me back in time to the 90's. Corded phones, riding bikes in the neighborhood, vhs tapes, building forts out of whatever we could get our hands on. I sure miss those times. Simple, full, and plenty of time for anything

You look around in the empty houses, now realizing that time wait for no one. Your old toys, strewn across your floor. Your old bed, the best bed you ever had, is neatly made. A stark contrast to the mess in the floor. You lay down and cover yourself in your blankets, eventually dozing off. When you wake, you feel… smaller? You hear your mother call for you. What just happened?

Your mom drops you off for your first day of kindergarten. She walks you into a colorful classroom lead by a teacher with a big smile. Reminds me of visiting grandparents house for Christmas, getting back to school supplies, browsing early 2000s internet, video tape cassettes, boom boxes, pixel art, buying Mary Kate and Ashley clothing at Walmart, avril Lavigne & blink 182, icee pops, ps2 & Xbox , slow jamz, Nintendo, low rise flare jeans, Abercrombie & Fitch, roaming the streets with friends, RuneScape, choker necklaces, fuzzy disposable camera photos, swimming pools, riding bikes around your small town, the crickets & cicadas on hot summer nights, using paper maps to navigate, MSN & AOL instant messenger, Calvin & Hobbes, Garfield or the far side comic books, bath & body works products, sledding & ice skating, the county fair & 4-h, reading lots of books and magazines, Nickelodeon, summer camp every year with friends, going to the library, visiting the lake and camping with family, elementary and middle school hallways and lunchrooms, October weather, summer days off school and just always being outside, off social media and no iPhones. So much more creativity and actual personal relationships.

@@larissatorres8624 I'm going to turn 42 this year and I understand the tinge of sadness reading everyone's comments. There's no exact answer but I think it's because life was slower and less stressful growing up decades ago. There were no mobile phones so basically everyone was interacting in a physical presence. No looking down at phones etc. As kids we all hung out more in person rather than just text or gaming voice chat I've noticed. Gaming arcade were huge and multiplayer was literally side by side. If a boy liked a girl he had to face her and speak to her in person, there was no cheating by just sending a "Hey what's up" text from miles away. This often lead to some awkward moments lol but moments you laugh at and cherish later on in life

I cry, crying about why I wanted to rush my childhood and become an adult. I sure didn’t know how good I had it in the 80’s-00’s. I took it for granted and I make sure to tell my son to never take a day for granted, for one day you’ll want that day back.. and it’ll be too late. I just can’t stop crying to this song.. it unlocks so many memories that I can never live again

I may not be from the 90’s 80’s or anything, but i wish i was old enough to see what it was like. Heck being a 04 kid i am starting to miss things like snow days at school, the Christmas spirit that has changed over the years, the fun and games we would play outside. The world seems so different even over a span of 20 years.

Absolutely! Gonna be 21 in October and during my short time on this earth if I’ve learned anything it’s don’t take things for granted. Snow days, playing games with buddies or people in your life. One day it will go away and you’ll long for those days. Not saying dwell on the past but I think it’s important to cherish every moment. You’ll never know when it will end! God Bless Ya Brother! 🤙🏻🕊

I was born in 2000s but I totally agree! 90s games and shows are the best! I should've been born I'm 1988! Getting to experience the internet at teen years or so, pokemon-my favorite game- would come out by my being 8 years old, early 90s kid cartoons hit different too. Oh how I was born way too late.

I love this sound! Every-time I hear it, I get nostalgia from my 2000s childhood. Everything was good and life was simpler back then! It’s like every time I reminisce about it, I feel happy but sad at the same because of the fact those times and days are gone and will never come back but they will always live in my heart. ❤️

Same here I’m exactly the same it brings back memories of no responsibilities and just having fun with friends playing out, gaming etc and great family times aswell and the world just being a much nicer, magical and wonderful place. Hopefully some day we’ll be able to have those great days back again, however I don’t that will ever happen though. We where in the “good old days” and didn’t no it… now we do. People say if you have kids those days will sort of come back however I doubt it 😔😔😔

This is why I’m a digital artist. To help people continue to make great memories. I know art is seen as high risk (money/time) that may not be profitable but none of that matters anymore, I find ways to pay the bills and after that , I creat art to share . So others can enjoy/ that’s all that matters now. Giving and creating so people can feel real and have a good memory of life

Here I sit; on the curb of a hotel; 32 years old, 1500 miles from home. Married to someone who doesn't love me, my mom is a raging alcoholic, my Nana who is my favorite person is walllowing in despair alone, slowly losing her memory at 87, my dad who always asks when I'm coming home again(while my wife just wants to dump the kids off so he can watch them). I hate my life and just want to to back to when everything was whole again. I loved my childhood. This song makes me feel so broken. 😢

Do you have any idea what this does to my soul? The power or nostalgia is POWERFUL......... I am suddenly back in 1997 playing Donkey Kong, outside on a hot summer day drinking from the garden hose, tasting my Aunt Linda's famous pink ambrosia at church homecoming, going to the grocery store with my MeMaw smelling the bakery section, at school drawing with crayons & cutting construction paper, in the cafeteria with my formica divided plate holding lunch Lady pizza & a carton of milk, polishing my finger nails cobalt glittery blue, wearing my favorite CK Be cologne, going with my Papa to buy lumber, playing with my beloved pets & listening to my Mother play the piano in the den. MEMORY CORE UNLOCKED. SO BITTERSWEET 💔💔💔

What happened to our happiness? We lost that childish joy along the way we seem can never be rekindled. I’m 20 and I can honestly say this is the most devastating yet joyful music I have ever heard. Brings me back to a time of good fun, good people, good times. Now that fun has been lost, those people have passed on and those good times have become just a memory. I really wish something would change and I could have that feeling of childhood back. Just for a second. I would Trade anything for that. God bless you all. 🕊
