No need to tap the butt of the mag, that part just isn't all the way up into the locking position. All I did with mine is just put the butt of the mag on the tabletop and push down, then it snaped right into place. But either way works. =)

Just had my first range trip yesterday with this same gun, ran 100 rounds flawlessly. Blazer brass, Federal brass, and US Arms 9mm 115gr hollowpoints. Upon disassembly and inspection of everything today I'm noticing some bad marring on both of the magazine followers. Is this normal? Has anyone worn out followers yet? I trust Mec Gar mags very much so I'm guessing this is normal, just looked weird to me.

I ordered a 15rd extended mag from the Taurus website and it says it's compatible with GX4, But I loaded it up and the slider gets stuck on the pistol. Is this normal? Or did I order the incorrect mags?

so was it less expensive to buy the 11rd mags and the extension kit or would it be cheaper to have bought the 13rd mags they sell on their site considering u bought multiple mags? i could see doing it this way if i was just doing 1 mag, maybe even 2, but more than that just seems weird.....

That's all I could buy at the time. And I have 3 of these pistols. So I had a lot of mags. I only needed the extentions. So in my case it was cheaper to buy the extentions.

I finally did it. The trick is to compress the new spring solely using the pad of your thumb. I got this tip from another video. It’s still a PITA.

?? It comes (at least my TORO version) with 11 and 13 round magazines. For $10 you can make the 11 round a 13 round rather than spend $36, plus the tax difference. In fact, both of my magazines are marked 11 round, the "13" round IS an 11 round with this extension. Now they both are.

I still haven’t got this right. I cannot fit that spring in the magazine and close it after hours of trying. I should’ve done the smart thing and just purchase a thirteen round magazine. Never again, I did learn himm with the Taurus spectrum bought the aftermarket Galloway Precision’s are guide rod so I could avoid just this type of frustration. It’s absolutely mind-boggling. This is an absolute PITA.

I just checked shoptaurus, and the part(s) don't show...called customer service and they were clueless as to the part ever existing.
