Neither preferably, Cj plus Jonas and picks would be optimal. I love Zion, his ability to be healthy is too poor though, so if I had to choose it would be him for the pick. It could be the best for the Pels and him. The Pels lift the chip off the organization's shoulders and get a healthy potential all-star, and Zion gets a fresh start on a new team.

The fact that the source said he doesn’t think charlotte would do the deal for “just”BI is nuts!! Dude is borderline all NBA and getting better every year. For a 6 foot 1 (at most) pg who has never played a game, and they would expect more!!!??? Only way we should do this deal is if we don’t have to include BI or Z. The finals just showed us who we need to draft w/o a question it’s Derrick lively. Jokic is here & Victor coming into the league & in our division. We don’t need to move up to draft another small guard. Only way I’m considering is if Hornets accept trade offer centered around CJ & draft capital. But if we move on from JV , lively is the void we need to fill & we don’t have to make a move draft him at 14. & if he’s off board by time it’s our pick that means someone has dropped to us. Don’t fuck this up Pelicans!

I had time to think about this and personally I think its a great rumor move by the Pelicans. On one hand, you just sort of reached out to the Hornets about a possibility of a trade for that top pick, but on the other hand, it could give the team a feel how they think about picking SH. If Henderson is picked then that would make Ball expendable. Just maybe Ball could be traded for one of the Pels pick(s).

First guy from “the other team” that “gets what it would take to get a deal done.” Surprised this got out like this. Why go public now? The new collective bargaining agreement makes these picks (2-3) so valuable. Yes, Either Williamson or Ingram. Plus a pick or more. The next two drafts don’t have the “top three” of this draft. That’s why multiple picks and an all star player is the opening offer. Personally, I’m not a Zion guy. Too injury prone history. He may be fantastic… but if he’s on the injured list most of the year, he doesn’t help my team. I want Ingram. I think many would agree. These guys don’t come around very often. Let’s see what happens.

I know this is all for the sake of discussion, but the New Orleans Pelicans problems seem to have always been that they don't really do a good job in developing their young, superstar potential talents before they just give up on them and trade them off before they have peaked while at the same time they have a tendency to acquire veterans who are past the prime, but pay a premium price for them. Now, would it be a good move for the Pels to give up all of what they would have to give up to draft Scoot Henderson at # 2 when they just drafted Dyson Daniels at # 8 last year. If you compare Scoot's stats from last year with the G-League Ignite to that of Dyson's just a year before with the G-League Ignite, you will see similarities (14.7 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.8 apg, & 1.6 spg vs. 12 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 5.1 apg, & 2 spg). Sure, Scoot is the much more aggressive offensive player and is crazy, mad athletic, but how long will it take for him to adjust to the NBA game and how much of his game will be able to be carried over into the NBA! At least with Dyson, we already have a nice one year sample and see his progression as a NBA player. I agree that the Pels need to keep this core together at least another year possibly two if we see significant improvement this season!

I feel like the awnser is obvious, but its a hard one. Id rather trade Zion as he is never on the court and ull be paying him much more than ingram, but on the otherhand is Brandom Ingram going to be your number 1 option on a championship level team, an amazing number 2. Could Scoot be the new number 1. I reckon you trade Zion and 14 for Hayward and 2 and se how u gp from there. Even though Zion is under contract longer, I still feel like B.I is the safer option. He played well in the playoffs and took the suns to 6 games. We havent even seen Zion in a playoff setting. So trade Zion for Scoot and go from there

The risk of kicking the can down the road is that you are asking your fans to continue to settle for other teams to win a title at your expense. It’s better to go for broke and win the title then rebuild with assets. This is the FL marlins approach. Fans would live off that title for 10 years (see the Saints). Man Zion is such a generational talent that it seems almost blasphemous to even think about trading him. But realistically, I think it’s inevitable that Zion forces his way out of New Orleans. So with that being said, I would keep Brandon Ingram because he seems like he’s all in with the Pelicans and would probably even sign an extension with the Team. I personally would rather the Pelicans not make the trade and give the Zion & B.I. Tandem one more year at least.

Trade CJ & Naji for Terence Mann, Marcus Morris, Rob Covington & maybe a pick or 2. Flip Morris & Covington for anything idc. Terrence Mann brings everything Naji brings except Mann shoots at almost 40% from 3 the last few years & plays big in big games. It also moves CJs ridiculous contract. Trade JV & picks to Orlando for WCJ.. they make the same money except WCJ is locked in for a couple more years & would be an instant upgrade defensively while being a bit better/more confident shooter from 3. Trade Nance to NY for Hartenstein.. Nance is good but undersized for the 5 & not as impactful at the 4 as Jaxson is.. Resign Jaxson on a short term deal(1 or 2 years) & keep him at the 4! behind Z & in front of EJ. For whatever reason his play at the 4 seems to go unnoticed. He had big impact in that suns series 2022. Draft Lively. This has been a no brainer for me for months even when everone was down on his stock. Im A Duke fan & his feel for the defensive side of the court is legit. He's a true Center that projects to possibly be a stretch threat & mobile enough to switch onto perimeter players & do a good job of staying in front. I honestly believe he's a Tyson chandler/Jarrett Allen like Big with potential to space the floor.. He can sit behind WCJ for a few years & we can let WCJ walk once his contracts up. It also gives a twin tower look off the bench with him & Jaxson to go along with a somewhat small perimeter of Jose, Reaves & Mann.. Sign Austin Reeves to be the sixth man, I say 4yr/72m..A bench with him Jose & Terence Mann would be one of the best in basketball as they all have proven to be 3 of the best role players in the league & would bring a very different energy than the starting unit & I believe that energy would be contagious throughout the team. Maybe add another Vet like Danny Green or Austin Rivers BI/Jose/Kira Trey/Reaves Herb/Mann/Dyson Z/Jaxson/EJ WCJ/Lively/Hartenstein What's not to like? Send it to Griff.

First of all if the pels have to give up Zion or Ingram then that’s a big no thanks from me. Secondly if we did trade one of them for scoot then how many firsts am I getting on top of it? Ingram and Zion are young allstars and scoot has never played in the nba, idc if everyone likes him or not.

Doubt pels move any of Herb Trey Zion or BI for the 2nd pick. And griff said he’s aiming for sustained winning. If you can get guys on different tracks it can work for the pels. The warriors have Steph/Klay/Dray. And another group of Poole/Wiggins then another group of Kuminga/Moody/Wisrman. Pels could replicate that model without moving any of their core cause there isn’t many teams that can outbid them

What ablut a trade where we trade Cj to a third team like Houston. If the intention is to sign Harden, they are gonna push for a faster rebuild and pick 4 probably isnt in that time line. Ofcourse more would be added but that mifht be a way to keep BI and Zion

Bi too good to trade, Z still only 22, too much potential to give up on. I would take a flier on Mac Mcclung for a point guard. At the worst the fans in New Orleans will love him and Z putting on a dunking show!

...why make any moves? outside of moves around the fringes...how about developing your own players? Kira and Dyson would be lottery picks in THIS years draft...I'm pretty high on Dyson...if we had a competent coach ...especially offensive ...he could be a MORE talented Derrick White with higher upside...granted he will never be a top end scorer ...but he'll be a PLUS 25 or whatever on most nights

@@killakam1211 Sure but I'm not caught up in hype. His numbers were pretty pedestrian in the G league considering his talent. He's supposed to be this all time competitor but he's being accused of not going all out the second half of his g league season. Third, name the teams that have won with a 6'2 guard as their focal point. The only two I can think of in the last 40 years is Isiah Lord Thomas and Steph Curry. One is a top 3 greatest PG of all time and the other the greatest shooter in NBA history. Not saying Scoot isn't a great prospect but he's not in tier of his own. Thats hype. Miller is just as talented. Saying all that I do think Pels should trade Zion for him. It's not that I believe Zion isn't better I just believe in the long term BI's peak ability will last longer. His game lends itself to better longevity. What is Zion when the elite athleticism leaves him because of all those injuries? Trade him while he have great value because it's not a question of if he gets injuried it's when and how severe will it be?

I'm not trading BI. He's been there for this team, and has played especially hard in the playoffs. Where has Zion been? Talent doesn't mean anything if he plays 30 games a season. Trading BI would be plain stupid and disloyal.

Dangle B.I,, and hope that the Hornets snap at Zion. Charlotte would love to get either one back in N. Carolina, but Zion would fill more seats,...even in street clothes! A team contending for a playoff run will offer something for C.J. after the All-Star break. Besides for the salary cap, if you want to go deep into the playoffs, you can't afford to start three guys that don't play defense. But of the three, Ingram appears to try...sometimes

If anyone watched Denver methodically work their way through the West to a title, do you really believe that this team, as constructed could have beaten GSW, Lakers, Denver, and then Miami? Even with health, there are still holes. If the price is right, let's make the move. Love BI, but he proved he could not carry the team without Zion.

@James Connor But one game in season is not four seven game series. The best coaches made adjustments in-game and game to game, including roster tweaks to put the best matchups on the floor. I don't have confidence in the 2022-2023 staff to be on top of those adjustments and rotations.
@horacel9057
@horacel9057 Жыл бұрын
@James Connor Not 100 on the coaching staff. Even when we were on top, they still made mind boggling rotation decisions and head-scratching end of game choices. Hypothetically we could have, but I could see us being outcoached by a few staffs, besides for the lack of discipline and maturity players showed that would be amplified in a playoff setting. I'm just being realistic. There's a big difference between championship contenders and 1st round exit. I'm not buying the hype until I see strong evidence that top players are all in.
