Dana Red he knew he was going to be drafted because he was so great in his class. He most likely thought he was going to be a Pelican too because he was projected as a #1 pick. But when his name got called, his dream that he worked on since he was 5 finally came true which is emotional for everyone even if you know if we’re going to happen.

Prestige Shogun No. Zion isn’t like AD, this kid just wants to put his head down and play basketball. He’s not caught up in all that “play for a big market team” bullshit. He’s said many times that he’s excited to play for New Orleans, and NOLA has a new and very improved Front Office now, so it’s almost a guarantee that the Pels will build a strong team around him in the near future (unlike what happened with AD). Not to mention that New Orleans already has a lot of cap space, not enough to sign a super max, but enough to sign a really good player. Who knows what they’ll do in FA. Pelicans will be contenders by 2020-2021 season, and Zion isn’t going anywhere. Mark my words.
