Great video and looking forward to your upcoming adventures. Loved the "not impressed with my TV screen" segment. Scoot+ looked very acceptable despite the not so great food.

Great review mate. Flew this product earlier in the year between Perth and Singapore and by the time you added all the usual extras I found it to be less than $100 AUD more than bare bones economy (with luggage, meals, seat selection etc). The seat is really great for what it is although it's largely a budget experience aside from that. If they had a Jetstar level of included dining and drinks with their similar style 'business class' this would be a really compelling product for the price although that been said at the very minor price difference from an expensive time for economy class seats it was nonetheless a no brainer!

The almighty KZbin algorithm brought me here, I guess I am going to be binge watching, great video. The seat looks like it has some great padding, i'm old school, I like over padded seats which now days are a rarity, the food, well rice reheated in an aircraft oven never works, the good airlines have a rice cooker onboard. At the price though, yeah, the seat makes it worth it. I have to ask, where are you from? you may say in another video, have not got there yet, you look very familiar to me.

Welcome to the community and thank you for your sub. There was definitely no rice cooker onboard this aircraft 😂. I live in the midlands in England, north of Birmingham, south of Manchester along the M6. I have been spotted a couple of times on my travels, so do please say hello if you see me.

I really appreciated your attitude on giving a review that I could relate to with some humor and realism on what Scoot Plus is and isn’t. Maybe we should all just go with the cup of noodles on Scoot?

Thanks for your comment, if they don't charge you for the hot water, then cup noodles are a good shout. In fact a top tip is if you have specific dietary requirements and can take something like a cup noodle that meets those requirements then you should.

Good video - and agree that the upgrade price over Economy with all the add ons is worth it. Having said that, please be aware that Scoot is a very unreliable airline, their delays are legendary (half an hour late is like ahead of schedule for them) and whether or not your paid check-in luggage arrives on the same flight with you or days later is a pure gamble.

"half an hour late is like ahead of schedule for them" 😂😂😂 I got a feeling that punctuality wasn't high on their priority list and there are lots of stories but I could find any trustworthy stats, so I kept it low key. As anecdotal evidence, I checked a bag and it came through no issues.

@ glad to hear that your bag arrived w/o an issue. I had mine delayed by more than 24 hours after they initially loaded it and then unloaded it again with the bags of >20 other passengers. This was on a flight to Manado, a location where buying replacement goods is slightly challenging 😥 and according to tour guides happens regularly. Reading the news in SG (I live in SG), Scoot has developed a reputation for offloading bags due to weight constraints, which seems to me to be an issue with their planning of flight operations ….

I wonder how much the scoot plus seat costs on a return trip compared to a one way (and further compared to the competition) because I suspect that most people would look at return fares. I'm excited to see what this epic 21 flight trip is going to look like. Keep up the good work.

Now a round trip is a good point, I know Singapore uprate their one way fares, so perhaps a round trip should have been in the comparison part of the video, if anyone is reading and is interested, for Jetstar and Scoot, just double the prices, for Singapore multiply by 1.5. I was only flying one way on my way home, so I got a bit blinkered by that. Thanks for your comment, Phil

Thanks for your question and kind comment, this video was filmed using a Sony ZV-1 M2 and I used the DJI Mic 2 wireless mic, I don't have noise cancellation switched on on the camera thought, because I also have voice isolation in DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing which also helps clean up the voice over anything in the background. Previously I've used a GoPro Hero 10 (before the DJI Mic was purchased) and I got the cleanest sound when I just used the GoPro mic no media mod. I do have a shotgun mic but the media mod is just so fiddly to use on a plane.

Good review. For people who fly to Europe via Asia 1 or 2 times a year its good to see options. Unfortunately i find most travel agents are too lazy to get you the best flights ,ie, flying Vietnam or Oman business class can work out cheaper than premium economy on most airlines.

If the Aspire had an ashtray on the table, you'd never get me out of there! Great view. It doesn't look great, but it ticks the boxes over the poverty cabin. I guess you factor in not being hungry on the flight, and this is a wise option, any time you fly.

Not a bad product based on the ticket price. Over the years there have been mixed reviews of Scott's onboard PE service. Vlogger Paul Lucas suffered a poor experience six years ago (BKK-SIN) but he was satisfied with his last Scoot flight (BER-ATH) three years ago.

I like Paul Lucas, but I haven't watched much of his stuff lately, I'll have to find his scoot reviews. Scoots onboard service is very limited and the food is terrible, unless that's the complaint I can't imagine what the "scooties" could have done wrong.

As I noted before (my comment may have been deleted) Paul's last KZbin was long-haul Y. Yes budget airlines change their service all the time. Scoot has improved over the years but it failed to make a success of LGW-BKK-SIN and maybe that's why SIA took over (from LGW). Scoot's sole route now from Europe is BER-ATH-SIN.

They do recline, I'm sat in the back row in the video and I got a full 8" recline. If you watch from around 10mins 30 seconds.

Absolutely, it's a budget airline with an economy offering, the more spacious seat is the only real upgrade, that and the little cup of water before take off.

I recently flew twice with Scoot and once with jetstar. Jetstar won hands down,. Comfort, and service.

I take the economy seat is uncomfortable, 8 hours of that I can only imagine. You didn't miss out with the food, I'd personally eat in the airport and then buy snacks for the plane.

I didn't get the chance to sample the seats behind me but that does sound a bit uncomfortable however resolves the issue of reclining wars

I once used the Marhaba lounge and didn’t find it too bad. The food was acceptable. And I was flying Qatar as well. I found it better than the SIA lounge at Melbourne. Yes not luxurious but acceptable.

Better than the Singapore Airlines lounge, high praise indeed. I'm sure if I'd got there an hour later the food would have been better. And I agree with you, not luxurious but acceptable, or as I say about BA, perfectly adequate.

@@mygreygapyear. Yes the SIA lounge in Melbourne did surprise me. Decor wise much better than the Marahaba lounge but the food offering was surprisingly sparse and underwhelming. I did expect more.

I'm in Perth , Western Australia , a flight up to Singapore is only 4hrs for me , Scoot is a great option when they have a sale and the economy seat is just fine for such a short hop. Singapore Airlines is the best option but yea sometimes they are just too $$$. Qantas , ho hum whilst they continue to send 20 yr old A330s between Perth and Singapore , they just are not on my radar or the radar of many Aussie's. 😂

Thanks for your comment, I almost moved to Perth in my early years, I loved it there, didn't realise it was so close to Singapore. 4 hours away you could almost do a cheeky weekend away. I've found Qantas economy seats to be some of the most uncomfortable I've sat in, but the crew were excellent on my last flight from Bali. I've yet to try Singapore, they are a bit more expensive.

As Scoot don't offer any lounge access, was their really any point spending that long talking about lounges? Scoot is an outfit I have often nearly flown. In the early days it had a good rep and the biz offering was quite good, but pre and post covid I've heard many horror stories, plus photos showing peeling airframes didn't help. You spoilt it by mentioning Skytrak

A 33" pitch seat in economy is very generous. £131 for an 8 hrs flight on 787 it's an epic bargain. Unless you're a wider gentleman, I would take the econ seat. The £60 extra legroom seat is competitive for 8 hrs. £11 for the "meal", no thanks 😅

It is a shame the Singapore airlines owns and uses Scoot as a feeder airline. There are better budget airlines that are less rude, and offer better service for the same costs.

I haven't tried Jetstar business class. Is the seat similar to that of scoot plus (based on what you saw in the video). Or is it actually a proper business seat?

@ the seat is similar, but at least you get TV screen with entertainment, alcoholic. Drinks & a proper meal compared to scoot. MELB-SIN is the only route they fly the 787 on, the other route the fly to SIN is from Perth, using A321 .

Thank you for sharing your views, I have had a few negative comments about Scoot, I guess that's the risk when you fly a budget airline, they are always on the bubble of disaster due to the reduced fares.
