One of the best bike/scooter travel vlogs available ever on KZbin. You really captured the theme of simple pleasures, on a machine that is modest yet perfectly capable, in an region of great beauty. It shows very well that you do not need "adventure" bikes or expensive machines to enjoy yourself and take in the countryside. Please take note Motorcycle News and hundreds of other biking media and websites promoting ridiculously over-weight, over-powered bikes that add nothing to this experience except expense.

That’s awesome! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and took that message from it. We’ve always believed in small bike adventures. We even did a video series specifically to build a £500 adventure bike to prove it could be done. Although I think we overspent by £7 😁 There’s a brilliant Facebook group called ‘Great Fun on Small Bikes’ that’s chock full of sub 250cc adventure fanatics. It’s worth a look for more stuff like this 👍👍

Great video. Good to see I'm not the only one who travel on the Address. Time to time I ride mine to Wales. Normally these day trips are 200-300 mls long. It's fun. Fun in the different way. Not like my Kawasaki 750. It's like a bicycle. Ideal on those very narrow countryside roads.

Sounds like we have similar tastes. We both have the Address and a 750 Kawasaki. Good skills! What’s your 750? I agree they’re like chalk and cheese but both great fun 👍

@MechitBetter6 жыл бұрын
James Carey Thanks James. That’s praise indeed. This adventure (and taking my watercolours) was completely inspired by your own scooter camping and painting videos. I’ve been watching them a few months now. We spoke briefly about them on my original KZbin profile before I set up this one. So thanks for the inspiration, and for subscribing. Where did you visit in the UK? England isn’t so good for scooter wild camping unfortunately, but being pretty small, you can see a lot on a small scooter. Give us a shout if you ever head back over.

Cheers Michael! No GS required for this kind of stuff. We did a series where we rebuilt a Honda CG125 with a total budget of £500, including the bike. Then I rode it up to Scotland for a weeks touring and camping. Loved it! The t-Max should be great for a camping trip. Enjoy!

Hey John, can you show us how you mounted your top case on the rear rack for the Suzuki. I bought one on-line and sent it back, couldn't fit it. :(
@MechitBetter4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’ll try and make a video soon. What was the issue with fitting the one you bought?
@nikitis134 жыл бұрын
@@MechitBetter Bought on eBay but the base plate didn't line up with the holes/screws on the OEM Suzuki rack. I think most base plates that come with Top Cases are mostly made to accomodate the tubular steal types of rear luggage racks ("Ventura" or similar). The OEM Suzuki Address Top Case is way too small and expensive, what size case have you fitted mate? Cheers.
@roamereasy97374 жыл бұрын
@@nikitis13 You need to drill holes on the base plate according to the holes on the scooter rack(always use washers in bolting base plate down to the rack, "double bolts" is strongly recommended to keep single bolt from loosening) . Choose the size of your top box based upon your practical needs. I would recommend that adding a thick rubber mat(about quarter inch) between base plate and rack to keep plastic base plate from cracking due to bumping over the time. Also, drill a screw through washer inside the bottom of your top box to attach it to base plate to keep your top box from prying away by thieves.

How far can you travel in a day?
@MechitBetter6 жыл бұрын
Rocking in a free world That’s a hard question to answer. How long do you want to ride for? What types of roads etc? The tank range of the scooter is 130 miles. Top speed 60-65mph. Reliability is good. Comfort is OK but it’s not really built for distance. Personally I think anything over 150 miles in a day would be boring. I prefer to ride smaller roads and enjoy the views and stop to see villages. 80-100 miles a day is about right for me
