a BIG THANKS to you for these vids...I've bought my scooter two months ago and only driving it for one month now, your vids showed me how i was braking wrong on corners, I now corner better with the knowledge I earned from your vids.. On my route theres 3 corners over bridges, previously i used to get myself almost thrown off the corners but thanks to your vids it no longer is the case...I'm from Cape Town in South Africa.

Your vids really help me to improve my driving skills. I'm a bit addicted to the vids and watching them every day now and practice on the way to work. Keep up your good work thanks!!

Following along the lines of Ahmed's question, one of the problems that I've encountered is knowing what speeds I should employ slow speed braking techniques (rear brake, slight acceleration, lean away) and where I should employ high speed turning techniques. Where is the boundary? How do you develop the feeling for upper body position?

Thanks Ken, Roman here, great videos. Just have one question. I have watched both this video and your video on slow speed cornering. My question is: what is the speed difference in km between the slow speed cornering and cornering in this video as I'm having a problem working out when to lean with my scooter and when to do the "scooter in, body out" technique as described in slow speed corning. Basically would like to know at what speed in km is the scooter traveling when I should be leaning in and what speed do I counter lean? If that makes sense? Cheers Roman

Have one question u in this video u mention to lean towards the corner in ur slow cornering video u mention the bike in body out technique, is this normal speed vs slow speed cornering ?
@skaybaltimore8 жыл бұрын
+Ahmed Barakat I have the exact same question. What he said in this video makes sense -- use your body weight to lean in the direction you're steering to help use that weight along with steering to help properly direct the bike. In the other video it didn't make sense that he said to lean your body in the opposite direction in which you're turning/steering the bike. That seems very counter-intuitive. Since you asked this question a year ago and didn't get a response I'm not sure I will either. But I think it's important to clarify this issue, especially since it's geared towards new riders, like myself.
@wra7h7 жыл бұрын

I really should have a deeper look into your scooter vids. Recently fell off the scooter while stopping at a traffic light in light rain. I think it could have been oil on the road, but that totally changed the way i drive, fortunately it happened at 5am in the morning when cars are scarce on the roads. I was able to get up and carry on driving , the scooter suffered a few scratches and i got none. lol

I'm honestly not sure about this. Especially on corners where there is sand, oil or other things that will cause the front wheel to 'go on you'. I much prefer to keep the weight along a more upright axis and 'push' the scooter through the corner with an almost fully extended outer arm. I've also noticed that the scooter responds to this method allowing me to much more accurately direct the weight and radius of cornering arc it is on. One thing I can tell you is that if you put your weight inside a more upright axis as is demonstrated here, and you hit sand or oil or whatever, you WILL lose the front wheel and most likely have an accident. If you do not have the problem of oil or sand then fine. But I would argue even if you don't, DO NOT get your weight too far over. It's a death trap.

I have a question , when we push the upper part of the body outside towards the corner. How the Hands should hold the scooter bars ? We should also steer the handle bars or just keep it straight ?
@scootersalesScootersales7 жыл бұрын
Mohammed Raffi Lean into corner, countersteer (natural to do but good to know what you are doing). At 40kph if you press the right bar forward youre gonna go right. Good for quick swerves and in general to lean but we mostly do it naturally in corners
@mohammedraffi69647 жыл бұрын
Currently what is do is , lean the body out and press the handle bar down ( move the body out in Left and push the handle bar to down on right side to move Right). But this way help only at speed less than 60km/ph.
@mohammedraffi69647 жыл бұрын
Just want to know when we lean into corners at speed more 70Km/ph , what should we do to our handle bars ? Keep it loose or need to steer it also ?

*Can anyone tell me the "standard" recommended practice for mopeds and body lean, and body position when taking bends at full speed (30-40 mph)?* (I ride a 50cc yamaha zuma, 2012) -how far to lean off? -how far is too far? -should you try to stay centered on the moped, or move the body around and shift bodyweight a lot while hitting corners. -Most people I see riding (I go to a university so theres hundreds of mopeds) are on a leisurely stroll, or are on a shit Chinese moped thats slow as hell. I like to wake up as late as possible for class so i would rather go max speed on my moped to maximize my sleep time. I NEED SOME HIGH SPEED TIPS! I have not had any issues doing it, as I have experience on a 750cc honda shadow along, and the corners just come naturally. But, is there a proper way to lean into a corner, or hang off the moped when taking a hot corner? i dont want to be putting myself in any more risk than I need to, and i usually lean over pretty far when taking hot corners on my moped.... *there is very little info on this on the internet, so its not something I can just google*

Huh.. I lean the scooter in at high speed but I don't really lean in with my body, basically I put the scooter into the corner more than myself, Never had an issue with it.. when I was on a motorbike I did lean into the corners with my body no problems then either.. two ways too take corners I guess
