As a trucker I live at truck stops during the week and always use them traveling on my motorcycle since I always have unlimited free showers saved on my phone apps.

The downside to a truck stop from a trucker. Most drivers are decent guys and gals but there are some bizarre people behind the wheel of some of these rigs. Some are downright nutcases who need, and are not getting, adult supervision. Also these places attract local wackos who like to hang out there so my advice is to keep to yourself and be wary of who you are conversing with. Also, the truck parking lots are used as urinals and even toilets by some of these guys. You don't want to be downwind of the lot on a warm night because it can smell like a zoo. And one more thing, the most important thing, is people go missing from these lots. Women are especially vulnerable so if you're staying at one of these places and your wife has to "go pee" at 3 AM, go with her. GO WITH HER. The convenience of a truck stop is great but be very careful.

Boy, that whole area has changed now with the new interstate they've built and that particular truck stop had been completely remodeled.

Giving away a shower works until some asshole destroys the shower room and they hold the trucker responsible for it so sorry but I will never do that again
