This being sung by a boy kinda changes the meaning a little, for me at least. The original was about a prostitute trying to prove that her love for a man was real. Perhaps this is about a man who loves another man, and he keeps on being told he's "sick" and not really in love. Tired of being harassed for his "fake" and "sinful" love, he goes to extremes to prove himself. It likely doesn't convince anyone, and only gives them more weapons against him, saying he's insane and mentally ill.
