I tend to NOT pierce, but you make a very valid point about disturbing the pin and accidentally repairing the problem. This is a shop-cred problem and I see it more than a few times a year as I get to re-troubleshoot someone else's accidental repairs that fail again, down the road. Your logic is good and I just lost a piece of my religion - but I can always learn.

Great video thanks brother. We always pinned the wire then liquid tape when done. The best ground problem I ever saw was on a series 60 Detroit. The computer was doing some hit and miss or nothing. I found the main engine ground wire so corroded it was junk. I removed it cleaned up the surface and put a new one on. Back then they was exposed to everything I think they still are just thought it was odd. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother

I've been reluctant to pierce.. but those are some good points!

Good set of ground rules, get it? The only issue I have with wire piercing is using the wrong size piercer, or a dull one. I've seen some serious damage done to the wiring if it's over pierced(especially with a dull piercer). Also a dull one will damage the wiring as well, so use the right depth and keep on eye on the piercer, to avoid doing damage 👍

Good video. I'm waiting to see if Daniel Sullivan comes on to rant that piercing wires is vandalism. As you said, in the real world you need a reliable way to look at what's happening. Again, great video. 👍

Loving your videos. Not as in depth as the other guys but enough for us to get the idea how this thing works to our advantage.

I'm getting a hantek 1008C for Christmas 🙃, just wondering if you've ever used it. I'm green, kinda broke, and they're cheap. Thanks for the scope videos.

Several years ago i ran out of liquid tape. Went to tire room and grabbed a can of tire repair sealant. Tire repair sealant is all i use any more. Just wear gloves cause that stuff is stickier than crazy glue on skin and wires

Are there brands of seal or gasket you avoid? and thoughts on Fram filters? what do you think?
